Earlier this month, Tori reviewed Fire Inside by Kristen Ashley. Now it’s my turn to talk about the book. And in true Smexy style, I have gathered all the quotes that made me fall in love with Hop and Lanie…

10. Hop is moved when a classy lady comes onto him.

The news that this woman, this crazy gorgeous woman and all that she was hadn’t had a man between her legs in fucking years moved him even as it troubled him.

“Lanie, honey,” he muttered, not having the first fucking clue what else to say.

“I’ve thought on it and decided it’s you.” Her hands at his neck gave him a squeeze and fuck him, fuck him, that moved him even more.

9. He rocks a mustache and wears a ton of jewelry.

Though, while lying here staring at you, I’m just going to say, I really like your mustache,” she told him.

“Good to know,” he muttered, his lips still twitching.

“It’s badass biker cool,” she went on.

“Right,” he kept muttering, now through a grin.

“And it feels good on my neck and, well…other place,” she continued and his grin turned to a smile.

8. Hop is full of respect for his old lady.

“Suck me off in bed. Not on your knees. Class doesn’t hit her knees.”

7. Hop is a GIVER.

“I also don’t come on my gut. I give it, somewhere in you, you’re gonna take it. That said, I think we established the other night you don’t like it in your mouth so what the fuck?”

He was not wrong about that either.

My voice was small when I told him, “I wanted to make you wild.”

“Well, you got that, babe,” he shot back then bit out with no small amount of sarcasm, “Excellent work.”

6. Hop has realized the error of his skanky past. His future will be all class and lady.

“Yea, I liked skank,” he bit off. “Liked the taste. Wild, free, and easy. Went back for more. Repeatedly. But that was before I had my mouth between the legs of a lady. You get that, you don’t go back.”

5. Being with Hop, Lanie’s worries have just become dramatically less.

“I don’t use you as a shield. I am the goddamn shield, and I’m not talkin’ about bullets because shit like that does not touch old ladies. Ever. I’m talkin’ about assholes with monster trucks. I’m talkin’ about Club business, life, every second you live, every breath you take. You take a chance on me, your biggest worry is your 7Up fizzing over.”

4. When Hop has sex with you in a bathroom, he only chooses the very best!

“Stall sex with a skank, yeah” he went on and my head jerked. “Twice,” he continued and I felt my lips part. “Though, a private handicapped restroom is definitely the way to go with a lady, I’d never do you in a stall.”

3. Having sex with Hop is carpet-burn free

Do we have to go upstairs to fuck?”

He dipped his face closer and answered, “In the mood to dominate, babe, and not big on givin’ my old lady carpet burns.”

He was in the mood to dominate.

Yes.

It just kept getting better.

2. This has nothing to do with Hop, but Tack is in this book and he demands a quote from me. Referring to his young sons…

Tack, who was enjoying a beer in my living room with Hop, and Tyra, who was in the kitchen preparing dinner with me, totally ignored them.

This was often their tactic.

“As long as they aren’t close to somethin’ that can hurt them or somethin’ breakable, we let ‘em duke it out,” Tack had told me.

I wasn’t certain this was an optimal parental choice, but I’d never seen bikers raised from womb to badass. It was probably good they knew their way around a slug fest from a young age.

(Tack is raising bad ass kids. *faints*)

1. Beyond all the blow jobs, bathroom sex and just pure badassery that is Hopper Kincaid, this truly is a love story.

The look of love.

Yes, right then, Hopper Kincaid was giving that look to me.

“Come here, lady,” he ordered gently and when I stayed frozen, stuck in the glow of his look and didn’t immediately, he leaned toward me, hooked a finger in the belt look of my jeans and he brought me there.

When I was close, he wrapped his arms around my waist and, automatically, I lifted my hands and rested them on his chest.

And they lived happily ever after! Really enjoyed this book. If you have yet to pick it up, this can definitely be read as a stand alone although you may have more fun if you read Motorcycle Man and Own the Wind first. I can’t wait for the next one in this series.
