10. I’m home from the beach. We survived. The adults went out one night and we met a man named ‘Manly.’ I’m not kidding. His parents named him after a character on Little House on the Prairie. Although the Manly I met looked nothing like his namesake. And then my friend Melissa was all – omg, I was named after Melissa Gilbert! And there was bonding and such. Never a dull moment at the beach.
9. The next book by Julie James, coming April 2014 will be titled: It Happened One Wedding. I’m already in love! She said on her blog that her characters have always met at work, so she wanted to try something different. I like! I like!
8. Romance Around the Corner will be having a Heroine Week (it’s time for the girls to get some love y’all!) next week. She will be posting the full schedule this Sunday but there will be posts from Sarah Mayberry, Molly O’Keefe, Jill Sorenson and many other authors and bloggers. It looks like an awesome line up …can’t wait.
7. My friend Angie went to a luncheon with Karen Marie Moning (SO JEALOUS) and wrote up a fab blog post with lots of good information on the upcoming Dani books. Go HERE to read it. I need book 2! I need to be Ryo’s Level Four Ho!
6. Nalini Singh has announced who the next hero in her Psy/Changeling series will be. Go HERE to find out. And I say – YAY!
5. Bells introduced me to the Lady Boners Twitter account. Y’all know I love me a good lady boner, and this account does a pretty nice job tweeting the LB pics. (Like the hottie soccer dude above)
Then because it’s five in the morning as I write this and I’m feeling daring, I googled Lady Boners. I found the Lady Boners tumblr. Verra nice. And the Lady Boners thread on Reddit. I’m also pretty sure ladyboners.com is available to be purchased. I live in a world where this domain name is not being used?! Something is wrong America!!
4. Is that a firecracker in your pants, or are you just happy to see me? It is pretty much still the July 4th holiday, and there is no better way to celebrate than to take a look at celebrities who don’t like to wear underwear. We all know Jon Hamm made the list – but take a look at the others.
3. I just had a moment where I wanted to change the lyrics to God Bless America to Smexy Blesses the Peen – to be patriotic or…peen-triotic. It would go something like this:
While the storm clouds gather far across the zipper,
Let us swear allegiance to a peen that’s free,
Let us all be grateful for a peen so fair,
As it raises up in a fevered prayer.
Smexy blesses the Peen,
Peen that I love.
Stand beside him, and guide him…
I’ll spare you the rest. But you know where it’s headed…..
2. You guys. There is now wine-infused popcorn! It’s called Populence. It comes in two flavors – Pinot Noir Drizzle and Sauvignon Blanc Kettle corn. NOM! Of course, I could just eat regular popcorn and guzzle wine down with it. But hey – this I approve of anything wine related. So I say, you go Populence.
1. Our July 4th party is tomorrow – I have a dunk tank and a sno-cone machine coming. We’ll see how long it takes for us to start making adult sno-cones *wink* Hope you had a great July 4th and a fun weekend planned! Read something smexy and remember to be Peen-triotic!

Manly, LOL!

I have a new word for the peen thanks to Scarlett Parrish. How about peenings? Heh.

So was beach guy’s given name actually Manly or Almanzo? For no particularly logical reason I think it’s weirder if his parents gave him his namesake’s nickname instead of his actual name.

Wine Slushies (or Snow Cones) are the best Summer treat of all time! Enjoy your party!!

Ooh, thanks for sharing the KMM Q&A. I finally read Iced earlier this year and I’m looking forward to the next one, even if we do have to wait a while.

This whole post was inspired.

I hope you had a great party Mandi! I do know an English darts player, named Peter Manly. (Could be Manley …)
Debbie says
Mandi,
I have my very own Manley (spelled slightly different). When we met and told me his name I must have given him a funny look because he said “No it’s true my name is Manley like the Irish Spring commercial the Manley soap.” That was it (plus he is a handsome devil) he had me hook, line and sinker 25 years ago.
Mandi says
Debbie – I love it! I also love his example of the Irish Spring soap. LOL! That is awesome
Debbie says
And believe it or not he still uses that soap!
