I have yet to read Seize Me by Crystal Spears. Then why am I posting a scene from it, you ask? Well, Tori has read it and told me it’s a “cracky read” so I bought it but it is still sitting on my Kindle. This morning I started skimming through it and thought – why yes, this makes for a good Smex Scene Sunday book. I’m going to post Tori’s brief Goodreads review, so you can get a feel for she feels about it: Seize Me is a violent, dark, raunchy soap opera version of SOA. If you enjoy Madeline Continue Reading

10. Last night I had the Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard from Dairy Queen. I have yet to recover. Chocolate ice cream, chocolate shavings and big bites of brownie. I may have shed some tears of joy after my first bite. 9. Samantha Young just released a new adult book titled, Into the Deep. I read it this week and I liked it but not as much as her Dublin series. Retro Reads: Susan Wiggs The Charm School
Retro reads is a bi monthly, maybe monthly, a pretty much whenever I feel like it, post where I and May (sometimes together, sometimes separately) discuss an old favorite book. This month's Retro Read is The Charm School by Susan Wiggs. I adore Susan Wiggs historicals and contemporaries. Always sweet, often humorous stories with an undercurrent of angst that tell a story of finding love under the most unusual of circumstances. The Charm School, the first book in the Calhoun Chronicles, is an Continue Reading
Cosmo Red Hot Reads from Harlequin
When I was in New York City recently, I was able to attend the launch party for the Cosmo Red Hot line coming from Harlequin. These two have joined forces to release two books each month. Each book is 30,000 words (so more of a novella) will be a contemporary, with confident, independent heroines who get paired with all sorts of sexy heroes. Tycoons, bad boys and maybe a geeky guy thrown into the mix. And being a “Red Hot” read, the sex scenes are sure to be uber smexy. The line launches today Continue Reading
Review: Sanctuary Island by Lily Everett
Sanctuary Island by Lily Everett Released: July 30, 2013 Contemporary Romance St. Martins Reviewed by Mandi Maybe I’m a sucker for a cover with horses on it, but when I received this book for review, even though I had heard it’s more on the women’s fic side, I still wanted to read it. And yes there are wild horses, and a sexy handyman and a heroine who is looking to reunite with her mother. There was a really nice combination of drama, small town life, romance and humor. When Continue Reading
