Devon and Alisha are both members of an elite search and rescue squad in Banff Canada. They are the ones called out when people are in danger on nearby mountains and other tough terrain. They must be in top form for these rescues, and they train relentlessly year round. Which means they are in close contact year round. Devon and Alisha have been playing the flirting game for a long time, and Devon finally decides to make a move.
Before that happens though, they are together in a cavern rescuing someone who fell, when water suddenly rushes in. Alisha freezes and has a panic attack, something that totally surprises Devon. He can’t have a partner who panics during a water rescue, especially since the team is looking to expand their rescue area, which would include more water rescues. Alisha convinces him it’s a one time thing, but Devon isn’t so sure. As he starts to push her for proof, he also pushes her into bed (Ha!. Hey it’s true). There is also a pesky person from Alisha’s past that wants her to come back home to the family business.
This is the second book in this series and I liked it much better than book one. This one has a great balance of adventure and sexy times, something book one was missing. (book one had too much sex. I know – I can’t believe I said that either). Alisha and Devon have instant chemistry, but it’s fun and unfolds well. Jumping into bed quite quickly worked for me and this author gives us plenty of time with them in bed. It’s a very sexy book.
But the action is just as fun. We witness rescues and training. This author does such a good job setting scenes in the training facility (or even the rescues) with technical detail, yet it isn’t boring or tedious. She puts us right in the action and it’s easy to follow along.
I had a fun time with this one.

Great review Mandi, glad you enjoyed it so much. I still have to read my first Vivian Arend book, but someday I will :)
