Seducing Mr. Right by Katee Robert

Danielle caught who she thought was the company mailman checking her out in the elevator one day (he was holding a stack of mail) and struck up a flirty conversation. This turned into having coffee every week and building sexual tension. On the night of the company Halloween party, Danielle decides this is the night to make a move with Grayson. However, this is the night Grayson has decided to tell Danielle he is actually the CEO. Danielle has daddy issues, her dad is very career driven, and he worries once he tells her he will scare her off.

This is a very sexy novella, as Grayson is a bit dominant and the sexual tension is done well. But it annoyed me that Grayson keeps the secret that he is a CEO not a mailman for soooooo long. At first he is going to tell her at the party. Then he is going to tell her as they kiss. Then he decides after they have sex. Just freaking tell her!! Plus, they have coffee and are at this masquerade together – and no one ever comes up to Grayson or refers to him as the boss or anything? Was not believable.

I would have MUCH preferred him to be an actual mailman! That would have been a fun romance. The secrets annoyed me more than the sex entertained me.

Tempted by His Best Friend by Cari Quinn

Steph and Landon have been best friends since college but now their friends-only status has moved to an awkward, uncomfortable stage. Steph tried to seduce Landon a little, and that pushed Landon away. Unhappy, Steph decides to try one more time, undercover. In the guise of a fox at a Halloween party, Steph seduces Landon and they have sex (Landon doesn’t know it is her) at the end Steph freaks out and flees, leaving behind an earring, Landon’s only clue on who he just slept with.  Steph feels horrible at what she did, but soon her dreams come true when her and Landon hook up for real. But she still has that secret between them…

I usually would sit here and complain about this scenario – heroine tricks the hero into sleeping with her (like the review above except this writing style worked much better for me)– but for some reason this worked for me. I didn’t love what Steph did, but I loved their chemistry. I loved how hot and sexy they are together (they are reallllly hot and sexy). Their real romance develops great for a novella and I liked how it all ends, even how the secret plays out. Super sexy story. (I also totally want to be a fox for Halloween)

Wicked Games by Samanthe Beck

I’ve never read this author before but I like her voice. This one was more of a romantic suspense but still has dirty sex in it. Stacy (ex-stripper turned into famous actress) and Ian (cop) were in a loving, committed relationship, until Ian asked her to move in with him and she met his parents. It all just seemed too perfect and Stacy didn’t feel worthy, so she fled. Ian has been waiting patiently for her to come back so when he hears she had a threatening letter, he goes to the party she is at to make sure she stays safe. They end up having dirty, dirty sex. Then her stalker comes and drama unfolds.

Even though this has a couple reuniting and a suspense plot, it all works well in a short story. I really like Stacy and Ian together yet I also believed in Stacy and her fear of commitment. Ian is a sexy dude with some dominant tendencies. Even the stalker plot worked for me. I liked!

Protecting What’s Theirs by Tessa Bailey

Oh man do I love Tessa Bailey. She writes such dirty talking heroes. I was so excited when I learned this novella would continue Derek and Ginger’s story, first introduced in Protecting What’s His. I really enjoyed that book. This story starts with Ginger finding out she is pregnant, but Derek has been distant and she doesn’t know how to tell him. Derek has been distant because he is planning a big raid on a crime family and must have all concentration to make sure he and his team stays safe.

It’s so very dirty:

“Enjoy it, baby. You fucking begged for it, didn’t you? Do you enjoy wielding your power over me? You like turning me into an animal? Crazed to fuck?”

“Yes,” she moaned.

“Good. Except now it’s my turn.” Slap, Slap. “And you’ve put me in a bad motherfucking mood, Ginger. I’m not going to stop pounding until the shape of my cock permanently exists inside of you. Until you can’t  move an inch without feeling me. Now, say my goddamn name.”

Oh Derek. I love him so *wink*

I like that their relationship isn’t perfect. I like that Derek is so jealous and possessive. I LOVE that Ginger and her Dolly Parton statue have a heart to heart conversation to start this story. So fun.

Derek and Ginger were the best couple of that three book series.
