From the Donya Lynne: In the fifth installment of the sensual, award-winning All the King’s Men Series, readers finally get to see inside the world of the usually so restrained Malek. He’s been the rock of the series so far, but that’s about to change as his world turns topsy-turvy with the introduction of assassin, Gina Carano. Here’s a blurb of the book:
Malek was only a young adult vampire when he lost his first mate, Carmen, in the late Middle Ages. Now, a thousand years later, he still hasn’t mourned her death, and he’s committed to keeping her memory sacred and intact, tucked away in the back of his mind. Until he meets Gina, who awakens his long-dormant need to mate.
Gina, an assassin, is haunted by her own painful past. She was mated once, too, to a half-Dacian named Armand, who was brutal and abusive. Escaping Armand almost killed her, and she swore she would never let another male claim her ever again. But she hadn’t counted on meeting a tender male like Malek, who now claims to be her new mate.
In a fit of denial and distress over Malek’s revelation, Gina flees Chicago, only to fall prey to violent panic attacks that grow more severe and frequent as time passes. Only when she agrees to return to Chicago and give Malek a chance does her anxiety subside, and she realizes she has formed a rare female mating bond to him.
But Malek is no longer the kind-hearted male he’d been when she met him weeks earlier. Malek has fallen into suffering from both her absence and his struggle to accept Carmen’s death, and his mind has splintered into war over his desires: stay true to Carmen’s memory or accept Gina as his mate. He can’t have both. Which will he choose? Only one will lead Malek out of the darkness. The other will send him six-feet-under and sentence Gina to a lifetime of agony without him.
Don’t miss this emotionally-charged, high action romance.
Now, before I go, another of my characters, Micah (he’s the main character of the entire series) has a treat for you. In honor of the holidays, Micah wanted to put his own spin on the classic, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. And when Micah puts his spin on something, it usually means things are about to get interesting. Micah says he hopes all the AKM fans out there make this a new holiday classic, but something tells me parents won’t be singing this version to their kids. It might not help put visions of sugar plum fairies and candy canes in their dreams. But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Micah-Style
You know Severin and Ari and Josie and Tristan,
Io and Miri and Stryker and Kieran,
But do you recall
The most badass vampire of all?
Micah, the Master Dom
And if you ever saw it,
You would fear for your life.
All of his fellow teammates
Used to give Micah his space.
And if they poked their nose in
Micah got in their face.
Then one dreary winter’s eve,
Micah came to say,
"Samantha, with your gun of might,
Won’t you save my life tonight?"
Then all his teammates loved him
And Traceon said "beat me."
Micah, the Master Dom
Forever will be happy.
Micah has also created his own version of the Twelve Days of Christmas, but we’ll save that for another time. Thank you to Smexy Books for hosting me today, and Malek, Micah, and I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday season.
