Maggie Hendricks owns a book store, has great friends and is generally a happy person. There is only one thing that really bothers her – she has never had an orgasm. Ever. As in, not by herself or with another person. She is so sick of pretending to have one when she is with someone and sick of not being able to get there herself. So when a friend of hers tells her that she had a crazy sex episode with a local tattoo artist and known sex god, Maggie is desperate enough to go to this tattoo parlor to see if she can seduce the artist into having sex with her. But as she tries to seduce this guy, it turns out she is trying to seduce his twin brother, who is much more on the up and narrow. Humiliated, she flees.
Brazilian Rafel Oliveira is successful tattoo artist and property owner, who still mourns over the break-up of his last long-time girlfriend. Unlike his twin brother who has had sex with many of the women in the Australian city they live in, Rafel can’t get over his break-up. Although he found Maggie’s behavior to be odd at his shop, he is also intrigued. She had blurted out that she had never orgasmed, so he knows that information about her. He tracks her down and decides he is going to be the one to take her over the edge. Maggie happily agrees.
This story is so much more than just Maggie achieving orgasm. A lot of the first half of the book is focused on it, and it’s frustrating for Maggie but she also starts to have fun with Rafel. You can really feel her embarrassment over the entire issue. She has a lot of control issues in her past that lead her to not relax as an adult, and Rafel realizes this. He doesn’t just dive in and expect great things. He teases her. He makes her wait. He uses his charm and wit to drive her insane. And then one day it happens.
But what I loved is that when it does happen, it’s not happy ever after and the end. The orgasm doesn’t mean – love. They actually hit bumpy roads because well – being in a relationship is tough. They go from the goal of orgasm, to the goal of – maybe a future together. There are past lovers whose shadow clouds things up, so Rafel continues to court Maggie. And Maggie is honest about her concerns and fears for the future. They are both very mature about everything and that really appealed to me. It’s a smartly written, sexy romance with a very well done path to happe ever after.

I have quickly become a huge fan of Sarah’s books, and I enjoyed her upcoming one from Harlequin, so I’m anxious now to read this book as well. Great review!
Enjoy,

I really liked this one. For a while, Rafel seemed too perfect, and then as the book wore on, he seemed much more like a human being and it’s clear that he and Maggie have to work things out like any couple in a new relationship. And it’s funny, just as I was thinking “Rafel is too perfect — he’s kind of like a human sex toy”, Maggie had a similar thought and realized that things with him were at a crossroads. I think it was really well handled.

May I simply just say what a comfort to discover a person that really knows what they
are discussing on the internet. You definitely understand how to bring an issue to
light and make it important. More people need to look at this and
understand this side of your story. I was surprised that you are not
more popular because you definitely have the gift.
