On April 15, Tracy Solheim’s novella, A Numbers Game releases. Let’s take a look at some gossip about the hero and heroine….
From The Girlfriends’ Guide to the NFL:
The Baltimore Blaze just added a new member to its coaching staff, former Miami fullback Heath Gibson. A ten year veteran of the league, Gibson is rumored to have been forced into retirement due to a series of concussions. Fortunately ladies, those injuries did nothing to mar his gorgeous face and muscled body. Gibson will be reunited in Baltimore with his former Notre Dame teammate, Blaze tight end Brody Janik, giving the ladies of Charm City a double shot of Celtic energy.
According to the Blaze media guide, Heath Gibson is thirty-one years old, brown eyes (we prefer to call them coffee colored), brown hair (more sandy blonde from his days living in south Florida), six foot tall, and two hundred pounds (of ripped muscle). Now, here’s what they media guide doesn’t tell you: Heath Gibson is divorced from a reality television star. From what we can uncover, their marriage ended about the same time as his football career. We’re still trying to track down the juicy gossip for you ladies. You can be sure we’ll share it here as soon as we uncover something.
There are also whispers that Gibson—and several of his former Fighting Irish teammates—played their own version of The Dating Game while in South Bend. This game, however, might have involved some unsuspecting co-eds. We’re still ferreting out details on that here at The Girlfriends’ Guide to the NFL, but you know we’ll bring you the specifics as soon as we get them. Meanwhile girlfriends, if you’re in Baltimore, be on the lookout for Heath Gibson’s devastating smile and his cute little shamrock tattoo.
CPA Merrit Callahan learned early not to let passion unravel her orderly life. Back in college she fell hard for a football player, only to be devastated when she discovered he’d been duping her all along—dared by his teammates to score with his bookish tutor. Now, after her back-stabbing fiancé breaks off their engagement, Merrit flees to Baltimore to escape the fallout.
After eight years in the pros, a series of concussions have forced Heath Gibson out of the NFL. The transition from player to coach for the Baltimore Blaze hasn’t been smooth, but finding himself face-to-face with Merrit Callahan makes the ride even rockier. He’s been filled with regret ever since a stupid team prank caused Merrit to run away from him a decade earlier.
Merrit’s stunned to reconnect with Heath. And despite the authenticity of his reignited feelings this time around, Merrit’s got her mind set on payback. She’ll give Heath a night he won’t forget and then walk away. But Heath’s hold on her heart—and the rest of her body—is difficult to break…
And don’t forget, her next full length, Risky Game is coming out May 6.

While I will read anything football or baseball, I have a soft spot for all the characters in the play by play series by Jaci Burton, even though they span a number of sports.

Thanks for hosting me today, Mandi! Evelyn and Brianne, I love SEP and Jaci Burton, too! Sports romances are my favorites and they both write them so well. KP, my new series will feature a baseball player and a golfer. The Second Chances series begins at the end of this year.

Love the Blaze guys!!! I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy and one thing that I didnt like with our new novella, it was too short. I want more Heath. Loved him!!!! Merrit’s misunderstanding, ahem, was easily an understatement. I dont think I would be too happy falling for someone that was part of a “dare” prank. And I cannot wait for Risky Business! This series is top notch, well written and contains some great characters.

I’m a huge J.C. Burton, ‘Play by Play’ series fan! That series hits on many different types of sports. Between the hot male leads & gorgeous covers, she’s on my auto-buy list. I love that your new series takes place in my hometown of Baltimore! We sure do love our football here!!! Looking forward to your new book about the Baltimore Blaze :)
