Thanks so much for having me here at Smexy Books to celebrate the upcoming release of Fix You, Bash and Olivia, Book Two! The release day is officially April 29th, but I have an exclusive excerpt of Book One today, as well as some cool news. Book #1 is FREE EVERYWHERE right now!
Fix You is a three-part, new adult serial chronicling the relationship between sexy boxer Bash McDaniels and college student Olivia Beckett. Each novella releases a month (or less, in the case of book #3) apart.
Here’s the blurb:
She’s worth the fight…
Olivia Beckett’s once-charmed life is falling apart. Her family is about to lose everything, and she has almost no chance of going back to college next semester. She can’t even seek solace from her high school sweetheart. He’s changed. She doesn’t recognize the boy she used to know–his violent behavior is escalating and it scares the hell out of her. Her whole world is crumbling, and she has no one to turn to…
Sebastian “Bash” McDaniels is an up and comer in the boxing world working nights at the local college bar until he can land the fight of his dreams that will get him the hell out of Boston and away from his family’s tragic past. He’s weeks from his goal when Olivia Beckett comes tumbling into his life in a flash of silky dark hair and haunted eyes. When he saves her from a potentially brutal beating, they begin to grow close, but Olivia’s ex isn’t ready to let her go so easily. Bash can’t bring himself to walk away, but fixing Olivia just might leave him broken…
And here is an exclusive (smexy!) excerpt:
Olivia
An instant later, the kiss went from sweet to off the rails. A low growl came from deep in his throat and he closed his hands over my hips, thumbs pressing into my flesh in a way that turned my stomach into a pool of taffy. His mouth slanted over mine and teeth and tongues clashed like it was war.
And it was. My brain had popped back into gear and I knew with every fiber of my being that what I was doing was wrong. I needed to stop, but my body was so not on board with that plan. Instead, I pressed closer, mashing my breasts to his chest, moaning into his mouth when the heat of his skin seeped into mine.
More.
He anchored me to him, crowding me backward until I felt the chill of the mirror against my back. Our bodies were flush now, and he speared a hand through my hair.
It was madness. All-consuming madness.
“Olivia?”
He’d pulled back a scant inch to mutter my name before dipping back in to nip my bottom lip hard. I gasped, stunned at the sensation. It stung, but sent a bolt of need slamming through me so hard, my knees trembled.
“Liv?” he tried again, before tracing my bottom lip with the tip of his tongue.
“I-if you want me to answer you, stop doing that for a sec,” I murmured desperately.
“Doing what?” His voice was low and husky, like his throat was raw from screaming. Or tight with need. He was as far-gone as I was.
The knowledge sent every nerve ending firing at once and, helpless to stop it, I flexed my hips against his in a slow grind, reveling in the thick evidence of his arousal.
“Kissing me,” I croaked, and paused to moisten my throbbing lips. “And…touching me.”
But apparently, whatever he’d needed to know wasn’t that important, because he didn’t stop. His fingers blazed a trail over my rib cage and higher, to trace the underside of my breast. I strained closer to him, and my nipple peaked in anticipation of his touch when a low buzzing sound reached my ears. Maybe the blood pounding in my head?
“Your phone,” Bash muttered against my mouth. He pulled away, the breath sawing in and out of his lungs, and jerked his chin toward the floor where my cell sat.
We both looked down at the name that lit the screen.
Andy.
So that’s a bit of Book One, and I hope you liked it. I did want to tell you one other thing before you pick it up…um…CLIFFHANGER ALERT.>.<I promise it’s not to torture you guys :o) I’m a huge fan of series shows like Game of Thrones and Orphan Black, and I think a big reason is because there’s nothing I enjoy more than anticipating what’s going to happen next in a story. I LOVE to HATE the wait. I love to stew and think and guess. It makes the deliciousness of a two-hour read last until the next book comes out. That said, in this case, it will be a SHORT wait. Book two is out in two days, and book three will be out on May 20th and is already written and in edits. If you’d like a sneak peek a week or so early, feel free to sign up for my mailing list here. I email about once a month and do a lot of fun giveaways and contests.
If you don’t hate serials, and if you’re into new adult sexy times and authors like Jen McLaughlin and Monica Murphy, check out the first installment for free. And if you’ve already read Book One, check out a mini-excerpt for Book Two below!
“That’s the thing.” She yanked her wrist away and glared at me, eyes blazing. “I don’t care. I don’t care about anything but making sure you’re okay right now. Stop protecting me. Forget about what you think everyone else needs, and take what you need for once, Bash.”
For half a minute the car was silent except for the sound of our shared, harsh breathing. There was a war going on inside of me. A throw-down cage fight between the Bash I wanted to be–the one who was stronger than his weak-willed father, and more noble than his self-centered mother–and the Bash who was a product of rotten genes and one too many disappointments…a guy whose first instinct was to take because he knew that was the only way you got anything.
My brain, exhausted from all the wracking, just cut out completely, like a switch was flipped, and that instinct roared to the surface, obliterating everything in its path. My snarled “fuck it,” should have scared her, but she didn’t pull away when I reached for her and hauled her over the console separating us. Our knees banged together and I gripped her hips, lifting her until she straddled me.
There wasn’t enough room for both of us, and I didn’t give a single shit.
I smashed her closer, wrapped my fist in her long, wavy hair and dragged her face toward mine. The blood roared in my head louder than a white-water river, but I still heard her whimper when our mouths collided. I didn’t hold back. I couldn’t. She was real and there and in front of me and I wanted to drench myself in her. To let her sweetness wash away the grit and the grime on my soul until I felt clean again.
Slanting my mouth over hers, I kissed her like I had something to say and had one chance to say it. Her nails dug into my shoulders and she hung on for dear life, meeting every thrust of my tongue with one of her own. When I ground her against the aching bulge in my jeans, she groaned and rolled her hips in time.
Take what you need, Bash.
I kept my mouth locked on hers and grabbed the sides of her satiny blouse, tearing it open with one, swift jerk. Buttons pinged off the window and rained on the seats.
She drew back, panting. “What if someone sees us?”
If that was meant to deter me it was an epic fail, because now that she was upright, her lace-covered breasts were in my face just inches from my lips…
Okay, so there it is! The first lil piece of Bash and Olivia, Book Two, out in the world. Thanks so much for reading!
The final book releases in May.
