Oh Tessa Bailey and your dirty talking heroes. SWAT commander Reed does not let us down in his dirty talking abilities. He flies to Colorado to go to his best friend’s wedding. He would support his friends through anything, but a wedding isn’t his favorite venue, especially when there is a week of “fun” activities planned. But when he sees a bridesmaid the first night there, he knows his week has just gotten much better.

Julie Piper is in town as the maid of honor for one of her best friends and sorority sisters. Julie is the planner – helping the bride plan every detail. She is always nice, always helpful, and pretty much lives her  life for everyone else. This could be because her sister died and she now overcompensates, but Julie isn’t read yet to live her life a different way. When the other bridesmaids start eyeing the sexy groomsman and claiming who they want for the week, Julie can’t help but notice that Reed won’t stop staring at her. They meet briefly when she goes out on the patio to get some air. Reed kind of stalks her from the shadows and then immediately makes a move on her. This doesn’t sit well with Julie….but being at the same resort day after day is going to make hiding from Reed quite difficult

Reed is a very intense, surly, grumbly hero. And because Julie doesn’t go for his advances at first, it puts him into an even more bad mood. I do love a cranky hero. He is very abrasive and up front about the dirty things he wants to do to Julie, who is a southern girl with some class. She wants her man to be a little more polite! If she could only get her body to agree. She holds him off for a while. but she is soon in his arms. As usual, there are some fun scenes in here and smokin’ sexual tension. At one point Julie gives Reed a lap dance that is very fun to read.

But, but, but..I got a little tired of Reed by the end. His attitude and demeanor are a lot to take and I just got a little worn out by him. I needed to see him taken down a notch or two. But that being said, I also would not have minded some more time with these two in a relationship outside the bedroom before proclaiming they could never live without the other. Doing some normal dating things rather than over the top intense sex.

Fun, but not my favorite by Tessa Bailey.

Rating: B-

Note: The other groomsman, bridesmaid and the bride and groom from the above story, all have books too, each by a different author (I have not read these)

Good but not great. I felt like they didn’t have a lot of one to develop their insta love. But it was pretty steamy. And that’s what’s important here. Quick read, short book for an almost $4 book.

Yes, sometimes a hero can be too overbearing for my likes as well.
