This is a quick read with great sexual tension and a sexy, intense hero. I loved Ripped by Sarah Morgan last year, which features the heroine’s sister. Burned is Rosie’s story, who was so cute in Ripped (and she is still cute!). Rosie’s passion is the martial art of Muay Thai. She works at a fitness center which has just been sold to new management, so she is unsure about her future. And to make matters worse, her current boyfriend takes her out to a fancy restaurant and dumps her. He tells her because she is so bad-ass with her fighting skills, it scares him and he would rather her bake brownies and stay home and cook. Greatly offended, Rosie is about to show him just how bad-ass she can be, but then she spots her ex-boyfriend, Hunter across the room. Now all she wants to do is leave.

Hunter met Rosie when he was 20 and she was 16, and taking classes in Muay Thai. While nothing happened when she was so young, an intense romance eventually builds between them. But Hunter leaves her abruptly, and it takes Rosie a long time to get over him. As she leaves the restaurant and heads through an alleyway, she gets surrounded by a bunch of drunk men. Hunter followed her though, and he ‘rescues’ her and takes her back to her apartment and to her sister. Flustered, Rosie doesn’t know if she should be angry or hot and horny – or both.

When I picture Hunter I see an intense, brooding, hunk of a man. Not so bad to picture *dreamy sigh* Sarah Morgan can write great sexual tension, which then leads to some great sex too.

The door crashed back against the wall and I jumped. “You’ll be in trouble for destruction of property.”

“My property.” He growled the words against my mouth and I was wondering whether he was talking about me or the building when he flattened me against the wall and suddenly I couldn’t think of anything but the way his mouth felt on mine.

My fingers were jammed in his hair. His hands were on my bottom, holding me hard against him. His mouth ravaged mine, hot and demanding. We were out of control. I knew it. He knew it. Neither of us did anything to stop it.

I do wish this one had been a little longer. I know these are Cosmo Red Hot Reads and they are made to be quick, but this one felt a little unfinished compared to the first book. I wanted their rekindled romance to take a little longer to…rekindle. But otherwise it’s fun and really sexy.

Book one was better…I think we needed more time with these two to truly understand why they wanted to get back together.

Hmm he rescued her when she is a martial arts professional? Couldn’t she have saved herself there?
