We are happy to have Avery Flynn at Smexy today to celebrate her new release, Enemies on Tap.
A Beer for Every Romance Hero
Avery Flynn
Confession time. I decided to write a contemporary romance series about three sisters who inherit a brewery because I love beer. That makes me sound like a total lush, but this is Smexy Books where it’s always wine time so I figure I’m in good company. :)
Besides beer I love romance hero—specifically hot, sexy alpha romance heroes. And since I’m a woman that means I’m a multi-tasker. Why not pair beers and heroes? To really make it a party, I turned to my street team—the always awesome Flynnbots—for romance heroes who needed to find their beer pairing (thanks Darlene, Tricia, Carla, Ramona and Shelly!!!). Here are the results.
Logan Martin (Enemies on Tap by moi and out today!) and Dogfish Head 90-minute IPA
Logan is the prince of Salvation, Virginia. Of course, he needs an imperial ale. Sexy, strong and more than a little used to getting his way, Logan needs an equally alpha beer to go with his cocky alpha ways.
Cameron Wright (Personal Assets by Kelsey Browning): Shiner Bock
A Texas man needs a Texas beer. In this case, the beer for Cameron is Shiner Bock. Combine the two and you have a tasty, sexy treat that will cool you off when you need it.
City (Throttle Me by Chelle Bliss): Arrogant Bastard Ale
A hot badass with piercings and tats who rides a motorcycle and loves hard, City needs a beer that stands out as much as he does.
Ansel (Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren): Duck Duck Gooze
Ansel is always sweet until the heroine gets him in bed and then his naughty comes on strong. A sweet but heavy hitting American Wild Ale is the perfect pairing for him.
Johnny Dwayne Reed (Whisper No Lies by Cindy Gerard): Mountain Standard Double Black IPA
A flirty ladies man, Johnny brings the sweet with the badass special ops persona. So what would be better than a strong beer with hints of sweet chocolate goodness?
Rex Braden (Destined For Love by Melissa Foster): Obsidian Stout
Rex is the strong and silent type with a body to die for, which means a tasty stout is the way to go.
The wine community has sommeliers to pair wine and food. The beer community has cicerones for the same purpose. But no one has a term yet for someone who pairs romance heroes with the perfect beer. Obviously, I am ahead of my time. Join me in the future! Leave your best hero/beer pairings in the comments.
And if you’re thirsty for a hot alpha hero, check out Logan in Enemies on Tap (Sweet Salvation Brewery 1) which is on sale for 99 cents this week only!
Enemies
What’s a girl to do when the only person who can help her is the man who betrayed her? After years away, Miranda returns to Salvation, Virginia to save her family’s brewery, but her fate is in the hands of her first lover turned enemy, Logan Martin.
Lovers
Logan, Salvation’s de facto prince, can’t believe his luck when the woman who smashed his heart to smithereens walks into his bank asking for his help. What she doesn’t know is he needs the land is on.
An Irresistible Combination
But soon it’s a battle between their attraction for each other and their determination to win. With the town dead set against the Sweet Salvation Brewery’s success, Logan has to choose between what’s expected of him and what he really wants.
