Smexy’s Top Ten – July 25th

July 25, 2014 by Mandi 24 Comments

10. Fair warning, I talk a lot about Fifty Shades of Grey in this post. I don’t care if you adored the book, I don’t care if you hated the book. I just want to see Jamie Dornan nakey. Now excuse me while I watch Jamie walk into a room about 100 times in a row.

9. How about some book deals? All $1.99….

It Had to Be You by Jill Shalvis
The Sweet Spot by Laura Drake
Duke of Midnight by Elizabeth Hoyt
A Rake’s Midnight Kiss by Anna Campbell
Never Desire a Duke by Lily Dalton
The Rogue’s Proposal by Jennifer Haymore
Shadowdance by Kristen Callihan
Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill

8. Go get yourself some girl….

theshadows7. This is old news but I just discovered it. The cover for the Shadows – and here is the blurb:

Two brothers bound by more than blood fight to change a brutal destiny in the heart-wrenching new novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood by #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward.

Trez “Latimer” doesn’t really exist. And not just because the identity was created so that a Shadow could function in the underbelly of the human world. Sold by his parents to the Queen of the S’Hisbe as a child, Trez escaped the Territory and has been a pimp and an enforcer in Caldwell, NY for years- all the while on the run from a destiny of sexual servitude. He’s never had anyone he could totally rely on… except for his brother, iAm.

iAm’s sole goal has always been to keep his brother from self-destructing- and he knows he’s failed. It’s not until the Chosen Selena enters Trez’s life that the male begins to turn things around… but by then it’s too late. The pledge to mate the Queen’s daughter comes due and there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and no negotiating.

Trapped between his heart and a fate he never volunteered for, Trez must decide whether to endanger himself and others- or forever leave behind the female he’s in love with. But then an unimaginable tragedy strikes and changes everything. Staring out over an emotional abyss, Trez must find a reason to go on or risk losing himself and his soul forever. And iAm, in the name of brotherly love, is faced with making the ultimate sacrifice..

iAm is a virgin so there is that. I actually really liked Trez and iAm in the previous book, so I’m looking forward to this one. Also waiting new on her new series called The Bourbon Kings……

6. Come and get me Jamie. Come. And. Get. Me.

5. I’m a huge fan of roller coasters. Huge. This ride isn’t a coaster but it looks just as scary. I think they cut your line completely off to make you fall. If you live in Denmark you must do it and tell me all about it!

4. You guys – this movie might actually be hot….

photo (1)3. I think I need to take a road trip to Virginia and get me some Well Hung Wine. It might be an essential part of my next girls night cocktail party. There are clothes and accessories too….

photo (2)2. On Sunday, we drive three hours to pick up our Pygmy Goats – Daisy (pictured above)  and Bub. They are about 12 weeks old. Why are we getting goats? Possibly because we can’t say no to our children and it was a fun Christmas surprise until, you know – you have to actually build a barn and put up a fence and like – learn how to take care of goats…We really have no idea what we are doing. LOLOL. As you read this, I’m borrowing my father’s truck to go pick up hay. WHAT AM I DOING??

And then we are putting the goats in the back of our minivan (in a dog kennel) and driving them three hours home. Keep us in your thoughts. I’ll post pictures next week :)

1. I’m not sure if I’ll have reading time this week between getting goats and going to my kids big rugby tournament. If I do get a chance, I”m staring Master of the Game by Jane Kindred. I love this erotic demon series.

    OMG, well-hung wine!

But I’m so skeptical of cute wine names/labels. I’ve been burned too many times. It’d make a great table decoration, though.

Who is Jamie Dornan? I mean what do we know him from? I don’t recognize him from anything.

Jaime is best known for playing killer, Paul Spector, in The Fall, british mini series.
He also appeared briefly in Once Upon a Time where he played sheriff, but he also has modeling career.

I love Jaime and that Beyonce remix of Crazy in Love in trailer is kind of dope…
TBH, if I didn’t know the book it was based on I would decide to see the movie after watching trailer… It looks good. And also Jaime, naked and intense: unf!
    Goats are so so cute!

What is that in the pic behind the goat? I wish I had your goats to eat my blackberry bushes.

I don’t know – the breeder sent me that pic. We have yet to officially meet them. I think she raises other animals.

He’s certainly not at all what I pictured when I read the books. But I think they did a great job with the trailer.

Yep, not feeling it with Jamie, either. I can’t shake that serial killer image from The Fall. I was so disappointed when Charlie Hunnam dropped out. Regardless, I’ll probably go see the movie anyway. lol
Any ideas what the “unimaginable tragedy” is in Ward’s next book?

At first I wanted to say Serena (is that her name) dies? But that probably won’t happen. I don’t know….you never know with Ward. It’s probably nothing that tragic

Oh, how I love Pygmy goats! They are cute and compact! I always to the L.A. County fair just to pet the little guys.

I’m on the fence about 50 Shades though.

Good luck with the goats, my friends had some and they had lots of accidental pregnancies between the goat siblings (and even with the Mommy goat and her son). They sure were cute though.

Yikes! The male is neutered – so if there is a pregnancy I’m going to be very confused. No babies! No milking. Just pets. LOL

I will probably not see the movie in theaters, as I don’t know anyone who will go see it with me and I won’t go to the movies by myself, not fun. Maybe if the reviews are really good I can sucker someone into it. I’m hoping that Netflix will pick it up.

I’m intrigued by the erotic demon book. I’ve added book one to my TBR list.
