Blurb: Life is perfect for Samantha Lytton, big-screen superheroine. Her acting career flourishes, the bad guys from her past are in prison, and she’s married her true love, be-dimpled ex-thief Sam. Everything is so rosy and idyllic, it’s like a freaking princess movie. Well, an R-rated one. Nothing could mar Sam and Samantha’s fairy tale romance!
Except the moment in the emergency room when Sam, his head cracked open, turns to his beloved wife and asks, “Who the hell are you?”
He’s suffering from…Samnesia! (At least he still laughs at Samantha’s stupid puns.) How on earth does that happen? If Samantha is going to live her very own soap opera, she’d choose an evil twin over amnesia any day.
With no idea who has attacked Sam or why, Samantha is left in the depths of despair with a hunk who doesn’t remember her, a creepy film director who’s getting more threatening by the minute, and, oh, the people who continue to try to murder Sam. How do you solve a mystery wrapped in a head bandage inside an empty skull? Nothing a little Norwegian fish porn and a lot of cleavage can’t fix. Hopefully.
Samantha needs every ounce of her courage to win her husband back before their enemies catch up to finish them both off. She thought their love was written in the stars, but it might be scribbled on an Etch-A-Sketch.
There is something about this author that makes me laugh. I just can’t help myself. I’m still very much in love with book one. Book two didn’t do a lot for me but The Wrath of Dimple was a pretty cute read. I have to say, these books are very over the top silly. You can’t take the characters seriously, but sometimes you need a book like this to just make you smile. And while this author gives us ridiculous scenes, she also writes very dirty sex. It’s a great combination.
Samantha, once a secretary is now a famous movie star – her biggest role was playing the Ovarian Hellion who “wears a sensible outfit of pajamas and sneakers to fight injustice in, because she was written by a woman.” She is finally happily married to her former con-artist/thief now boring painter husband Sam (yes Sam and Samantha). But the honeymoon is over when Sam gets hit in the head and goes into a coma. Unknown who attacked Sam, Samantha can only guess it’s related to the secret work he is doing for the FBI (yes, being a boring painter was just too boring for Sam) Unfortunately for all, when Sam awakes, he has no memory of Samantha, only his life previous to meeting her. The next day, while still in the hospital, Samantha walks in to find a bad guy trying to smother Sam. Beating him with her shoe, he runs. Now Samantha and Sam know something big is up – if only Sam could remember what the heck was going on. They also have to rekindle their relationship, as Sam has no idea who Samantha is, which makes their romance awkward (don’t worry, they hit the sack quick).
I don’t recommend starting with this book, I think you need the back story from book one to appreciate these two. Samantha is tough and funny, if not a bit ditzy…
“You seem to remember your wife,” said Agent Anastos.
My breath hitched, and I gazed into my coffee while Sam squeezed my shoulder. “I don’t, actually,” he said, his voice bereft of confidence for the first time. “But she’s been very kind through all this.”
“I slept on the couch last night.” I pointed to the pile of blankets Sam had left. “The amnesia is real. I’m sure the NSA has illegally stolen the brain scans for you, because we’re taxpayers.”
“You can’t see amnesia on a brain scan,” Hertz informed me.
Well.
She uses words like “Blarf” when you find something so disgusting you laugh and barf at the same time. She is my kind of girl
And she says stuff like this:
“I can’t believe you came here.”
“That’s just because you don’t remember me. For better or worse, for richer, for poorer, through break-ins and criminal trespassing.”
The dimple flashed despite its anger with me. “We didn’t really vow that, did we?”
“Yes.”
He rolled his eyes at my lie. Sighing, he ran a hand over his head. “I hope you brought gloves for yourself.”
I whipped them out and slid them on. “It’s not my first rodeo, obvs.”
“Did you just say ‘obvs’ as a complete word out loud?”
This story is over the top but the romance between Sam and Samantha is pretty sweet. They have great chemistry together. I wasn’t a huge fan of the villains in this one – they were too over the top, even for this story. But I will continue to read the adventures of Sam and Samantha. I’m always in a good mood when I finish.

I have book one and am looking forward to reading it. The sample pages I read were hilarious. And you’re right…sometimes you just need some silly.
I’m on the last book in Lisa Renee Jones’ Inside Out Trilogy and I think I’ll need the Dimple next. LOL
