I love audiobooks – I can’t run errands or clean my house without my earbuds in listening to a good book. So, I’m very happy to team up with Audible to highlight new audio books each month, and giveaway a few of them as well. I’d love to hear what audio books you have enjoyed recently in the comments!
I’m currently listening to Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Took me a little while to get used to the narrator but otherwise it’s fun…and super long. I’m also in the middle of listening to the Charlie Davidson series by Darinda Jones. I adore Lorelei King as the narrator. She is just fantastic. Next up for me will be Most Talkative by Andy Cohen – a non-romance book. Crazy, right?
The Color of a Memory by Julianne Maclean. Narrated by Jennifer O’Donnell.
ER nurse Audrey Fitzgerald believed she was married to the perfect man – a heroic firefighter who saved lives, even beyond his own death. But a year after losing him she meets a mysterious woman who has some unexplained connection to her husband….
Soon Audrey discovers that in the weeks leading up to her husband’s death, he was keeping secrets, and she wonders if she ever really knew him at all. Compelled to dig into his past and explore memories that define the essence of their relationship, Audrey embarks upon a journey of discovery that will lead her down a new path to the future – a future she never dared to imagine.
Sugar Rush by Donna Kauffman. Narrated by Amanda Ronconi
When baker extraordinaire Leilani Trusdale left the bustle of New York City for Georgia’s sleepy Sugarberry Island, she didn’t expect her past to follow. Yet suddenly, her former boss, Baxter Dunne, aka Chef Hot Cakes, the man who taught her everything pastry, wants to film his hit cooking show in her tiny cupcakery. The same Chef Hot Cakes whose molten chocolate-brown eyes and sexy British accent made Lani’s mouth water and her cheeks blush the color of raspberry filling – stirring all kinds of kitchen gossip, much of which Lani wished was true….
Lani’s friends are convinced that this time around, Baxter is the missing ingredient in her recipe for happiness. But convincing Lani will be a job for Baxter himself. And he’ll need more than black velvet frosting to sweeten the deal….
I Want it That Way by Ann Aguirre. Narrator TBA.
Nadia Conrad has big dreams, and she’s determined to make them come true—for her parents’ sake as well as her own. But between maintaining her college scholarship and working at the local day care to support herself, she barely has time to think, let alone date. Then she moves into a new apartment and meets the taciturn yet irresistible guy in 1B….
Daniel Tyler has grown up too fast. Becoming a single dad at twenty turned his life upside down—and brought him heartache he can’t risk again. Now, as he raises his four-year-old son while balancing a full-time construction management job and night classes, a social life is out of the question. The last thing he wants is for four noisy students to move into the apartment upstairs. But one night, Nadia’s and Ty’s paths cross, and soon they can’t stay away from each other.

I listen to audiobook everyday on my way to and from work. In fact the very first audiobook I purchased was “Outlander.” I just finished “Heart of Steel” by Maljean Brook. It was wonderful. Today I started “Branded by Fire” by Nalini Singh. I think that “The House of Hades” by Rick Riordan will be next.

I listened to my first book on cd on my trip back and forth to parents house in PA. Not sure if it was the idea of “listening” to a book, the narrator, or the book itself, “Afterburn/Aftershock”, but wasn’t too thrilled with it. Is it an acquired taste, or just takes some getting used to?

I just finished The Witness by Nora Roberts. It was excellent- both narration and story. I kept with the NR theme and started Black Hills. It isn’t as good. I’m bored.
Andrea deSherbinin says
I loved The Witness also. It was a great ‘marriage’ of narrator and book/author.

This morning I just got Shifting Shadows by Patricia Briggs. I can’t wait to start it!

I’ve only listened to one audio book but I really didn’t like the narrator and her inflection of different words and phrases so I’ve been hesitant to pick up another.

Listening to Outlander too! Perfection.
Diana says
I love audiobooks, especially when the narrator performs the story instead of telling it. In that vein, I’m HIGHLY anticipating Gail Carriger’s Waistcoats & Weaponry (out in November), narrated by the fabulous Moira Quirk.
While categorized as YA, they are set in the same world as her Parasol Protectorate and are just as funny and witty.

I’m absolutely addicted to audiobooks! I’ve been listening for about 10 years now and I’ve probably listened to about 800 or so.
Right now I’m listening to Kristen Ashley’s Colorado Series. I’m on book 4 Breathe and I’m loving it.
SEP’S Chicago Stars series was a fantastic listen. It was narrated by Anna Fields who sadly passed away a few years ago.

The last book I listened to was Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas.

I have never tried an audiobook, but look forward to trying one!

I love listening to audiobooks. I live in LA so there is a lot of time in the car or walking the dog.
I HIGHLY recommend ELEANOR & PARK by Rainbow Rowell. Sigh. It was SO good.
I also just listened to another great book (not a romance). DEAR DAUGHTER by Elizabeth Little. It’s a mystery full of snark and pop culture. A great listen.
Thanks for the giveaway!!

I’m addicted to the Outlander series and like you, it took a little while to get used to the narrator but now I love to listen to her voice. I’m on Voyager now and I think that I would have only been able to enjoy this series is by listening to it. And it’s quite the commitment!

I love Audiobooks! I’ve been listening to the White Trash Zombie series written by Diana Rowland and they make great audiobooks. The narrator reads it with a wonderful southern accent that really makes the whole book work. I’ve listened to the first 3 back to back. Love them and would love to win!
Jenn @ Lost in a Great Book says
I always recommend the Jim Butcher / Harry Dresden series on audiobooks, but since I’m up to date with those for the moment, I’m working my way throughout the Chloe Neill vampire series and the Louise Penny mysteries.
