Smexy’s Top Ten – October 17th

October 17, 2014 by Mandi 8 Comments

humpkin10. Does the word Humpkin fill anyone else with joy? I now have Hapenis and Humpkin. My life is complete.

kmmward9. Karen Marie Moning showed up at JR Ward’s book signing last week. Would have been FUN to go to. Thankfully, Liza as always has a wonderful recap of events on her blog.

Highlights: KMM says in Burned, Dani will be “sexually viable” – this makes me snort for some reason. But hey, at least we get some Ryodan sex so all is good. Sounds like Layla and Xcor get hot and heavy in The Shadows – I approve of this. You can read the full transcript here.

chat8. The next Psy/Changeling book out in 2015 will be called, Shards of Hope. It will be Aden’s book and we now have a blurb!

Awakening wounded in a darkened cell, their psychic abilities blocked, Aden and Zaira know they must escape. But when the lethal soldiers break free from their mysterious prison, they find themselves in a harsh, inhospitable landscape far from civilization. Their only hope for survival is to make it to the hidden home of a predatory changeling pack that doesn’t welcome outsiders.

And they must survive. A shadowy enemy has put a target on the back of the Arrow squad, an enemy that cannot be permitted to succeed in its deadly campaign. Aden will cross any line to keep his people safe for this new future, where even an assassin might have hope of a life beyond blood and death and pain. Zaira has no such hope. She knows she’s too damaged to return from the abyss. Her driving goal is to protect Aden, protect the only person who has ever come back for her no matter what.

This time, even Aden’s passionate determination may not be enough—because the emotionless chill of Silence existed for a reason. For the violent, and the insane, and the irreparably broken…like Zaira.

Good lordy I love this series!!! So excited for this book. Singh also has a Guild Hunter’s book releasing soon, and to celebrate she will have a twitter chat 10/22 at 9pm EST.

dornan7. Jamie Dornan aka Christian Grey did a photo shoot for British Vogue and beard does a boy well. Damn. Bearded Dornan > shaved Dornan duh. And those eyebrows. See a bunch more, plus pics from the set of Fifty Shades HERE.

6. I don’t watch Arrow, but I do watch Stephen Amell work out. Especially when it’s in slow motion. My god those arms.

harry5. Instead of working out, I think I’ll just order some Harry Potter sweats and lay on the couch and read. Yes, this is an excellent decision. I feel like I’m a Hufflepuff. LINK.

4. Who likes Irish doctors? Wait – who likes nakey Irish doctors?? I mean, if I have to go to the doctor, he better examine me without a shirt on, right?

This is for charity to support Epilepsy Ireland – I have no idea if these are actual Irish doctors – I mean, they look pretty serious above and they are holding a baby below  so they must be certified, right?

shirtless-doctors

But who really cares – they are hot and in scrubs. ;) LINK.

3. This post has some really fun ideas to scare your kids for Halloween. Some are more scary than others and some are more complicated. Many are pretty easy though. Might have to do a few of these – my boys are 10 and 8 so at a very good age to get tricked. What else do we have in life than to scare our children whenever possible? ;)

whiskey2. Now for adult Halloween fun, let’s make this Brunch Whiskey! Yes. It’s like Sangria, but whiskey instead of wine. As my brother always says, whiskey is the sweater you wear on the inside. And it’s getting cold out y’all. For the recipe go here.

1. Going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow and that about covers my weekend. I’m currently reading Caged in Winter by Brighton Walsh, I’m on page 10 so I can’t quite say if it’s going to be good yet *wink* – but I’ll report back. Have a great weekend!!

LOL! Your brother sounds like a hoot. And I’d love to ask the manufacturer why those Harry Potter sweats don’t come in youth sizes. My 9yo would DIE for Gryffindor sweats.

Aden!! I can’t wait to see the cover for his book. Hopefully it’s not along the same lines of Tangle of Need

That boog signing with the Warden and Karen must have been amazing. My two favorite authors together. Sigh.

Whoo, nakey Irish doctors! And the shipping seems fairly reasonable (I’ve wanted one of those nude Geneve-Servette hockey team benefit calendars for years, but the price from Switzerland seems prohibitive).

Damn shame there’s no audio with it, though–they could charge extra for the brogue, am I right?
