Swoon-Off: Phin vs. Daniel

Rhonda Helms and Shannyn Schroeder have challenged each other to a swoon off, pitting the heroes of our September release New Adult books against each other. There will be three events (Who is sexier?, Who has the best pick up/first conversation with the heroine?, and Who does the best grovel?). We will write about our heroes and post snippets from our books. Then there will be voting!

Who is Sexier?

PHIN

Phin is an awesome hero. He’s a gypsy pool shark. If that alone doesn’t convince you that he should win, this is how Layla describes him when she walks into a bar and watches him play pool:

Within moments, one player easily stood out as the man to beat. He was tall, over six feet, with long dark hair pulled back into a ponytail. He wore a T-shirt that looked intentionally too tight, showing off defined muscles, as if to say, “Don’t fuck with me.” He didn’t chat with the other player. The only sounds he made were to call his shots. He was smooth and efficient, and fun to watch as he cleared the table.
Especially when he bent over in front of her.

And then there are his eyes:

After the second loser left, the man looked around, his gaze landing on her. His eyes, a gray-green, weren’t pretty, but were mesmerizing. Something about the contrast against his olive skin.

DANIEL
Oh man, Phin really is hot. Definitely a worthwhile component! *fans self* But now let me introduce you to the hero of SCRATCH, Daniel.

Daniel is quiet, funny, intense, a smart guy with dark hair and green eyes. He’s an everyday kind of hunk, one who wears Converse and faded T-shirts with sexy jeans that mold to him so well. And then there are his hands. Are ya with me, ladies? Sexy hands make the man. ;-)

His fingers stroked the swirls and dips of wood on the table, and I found myself unable to look away. He had artist’s fingers, lean and long, and his left hand had pencil marks on the side.

Daniel also loves chocolate—he eats it melted right out of the bag. Here’s what made Casey start getting a little hot under the collar:

Daniel swiped his tongue out to lick the tip of the spork, his eyes locked on me; I swallowed, my body suddenly tense again, but this time with a heightened awareness of him. There was something sexy about the way he slowly licked the chocolate. With purpose.
