Before Smexy Books, we’ll call it BSB, I read The Gardella Vampire series by Colleen Gleason. Since I didn’t have a blog, or twitter (my life was so bleak) I made my next door neighbor read them with me, and we had so much fun with this series. I had first heard about the books on JR Ward’s message boards – I think JR Ward put a cover blurb on the first book too, and at that time it all but confirmed I would read these books.
I’m so happy to find out Colleen Gleason is rereleasing this series. It’s a five-book historical paranormal romance series that features a heroine who is chosen or called upon to continue her family’s legacy to fight vampires. The romance and overall story arc plays out over all five books – and there is a love triangle but it’s done really well. It’s so much fun to be team Max or Team Sebastian. (I of course was rooting for the victorious team) I ended up loving the hero and heroine.
Beneath the glitter of dazzling 19th-century London Society lurks a bloodthirsty evil…
Vampires have always lived among them, quietly attacking unsuspecting debutantes and dandified lords as well as hackney drivers and Bond Street milliners. If not for the vampire slayers of the Gardella family, these immortal creatures would have long taken over the world.
In every generation, a Gardella is called to accept the family legacy, and this time, Victoria Gardella Grantworth is chosen, on the eve of her debut, to carry the stake.
But as she moves between the crush of ballrooms and dangerous, moonlit streets, Victoria’s heart is torn between London’s most eligible bachelor, the Marquess of Rockley, and her enigmatic ally, Sebastian Vioget.
And when she comes face to face with the most powerful vampire in history, Victoria must ultimately make the choice between duty and love.
In even better news, the first book in the series, The Rest Falls Away, is $.99 through Thursday!! Let me note – I haven’t reread this series in awhile, but I do remember the story really picking up in book two. As the series continues, the books really start to shine.

I read these books before I became a Good Reads member in Nov. 2011, except #5.1, which I downloaded when it came out in ’13. What makes me mad with Amazon, it does not show that I’ve already purchased these. Might want to remind your followers to check before purchasing. Unless of course there are any changes in books. I loved this series and will enjoy reading them again. Believe I was for Team Max!

Loved Max but I have a soft spot for bad boys. I was Team Sebastian all the way. This is a great price for this book.

They were both such great characters

I loved this series back when it first came out, but I think I stopped at book 3 and then somehow didn’t pick up 4 or 5…I think it’s time for a re-read!

I saw Jeaniene Frost’s recommendation for this series and I immediately grabbed the first one. Sounds like it’ll be perfect to crack open Halloween week.
