What makes me happy about my favorite book list this year is that it encompasses so many sub-genres of romance. I think I hit almost every category, and that makes me happy. In no particular order:
Rogue Spy by Joanna Bourne – I highly recommend The Forbidden Rose, The Black Hawk and Rogue Spy for fans of historical spy romance. I’ll be a Hawker groupie for life.
A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev – Debut book and I couldn’t be more excited to see what this author puts out next.
The Year We Hid Away by Sarina Bowen – I’m most excited by this author this year. Her new adult titles have the perfect amount of angst, romance, and conflict for me. She writes good words.
The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan – Another new adult book that blew me away. Amazing chemistry and one of the best hero’s I’ve read this year.
Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews – What else can I say about this series? One of the best, most consistent urban fantasy series out there.
Into the Shadows by Carolyn Crane – Violent, gritty, dirty, hot, sexy. Yeah – this book is soooooo good.
All I Have by Nicole Helm – My favorite novella of the year. Farmer’s market romance. How adorable.
Suddenly Last Summer by Sarah Morgan – This entire series is cute, sexy, funny, with a great family. Sarah Morgan is one of my favorite contemporary authors.
Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop – This urban fantasy series is so dark, so complex, and so intriguing. With the hint and promise of a future romance, I can’t wait for more.
Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare – Scarred, blind, tortured hero. Adorable, head-strong heroine. They fight over a castle. There is adorableness. And a great romance.
Other books you shouldn’t miss:
The Lover’s Knot by Erin Satie
A Gentleman in the Street by Alisha Rai
Blamed by Edie Harris
Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren
Riding Dirty by Jill Sorenson
Truly by Ruthie Knox
Lay it Down by Cara McKenna
Sweet Disorder by Rose Lerner
The Chocolate Temptation by Laura Florand

I haven’t read everything on this list, but I totally agree with you on the ones I have. I think you are now my number one reviewer, since our tastes seem so similar. This could get expensive.

Uh oh – that credit card better be ready ;)
I’d love to hear your favorites that are not on this list

Not everything I read this year was published this year, because I am still catching up on books I missed during the years I was unable to read much due to a hectic family/work life. Some books I really this year that you did not include were:
The Kraken King by Meljean Brooke
The Angel by Tiffany Reisz
Blonde Date by Sarina Bowen (& I usually hate novellas and New Adult books)
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh (yes, yes, I know I am very late to the party)
Written in My Own Heart’s Blood by Diana Gabaldon (not her best, but boy I sure enjoyed it. I love Roger and Ian almost as much as Jamie. Outlander is my crack)
Mandi says
I def need to read all of these. No idea why I have yet to pick up the Kraken King!
