10. Maybe my goal in life should be to dress like an emoji. #LoftyDreams
9. Thanks to twitter, I was alerted about this upcoming book by debut author Pamela Cayne. I looooove the cover, but even better, I love the blurb:
London, 1883
“People like us don’t get happy endings.”
In twelve years as a bangtail, Lady has never feared a man’s kiss. Owned by the ruthless Hannibal Adams, the “Earl of the East End,” she’s draped in jewels and dead inside. Lady learns fear, however, when she kisses Mr. Adams’s best fighter for luck—for King sees the real woman locked away behind finery and falsity.
King’s life is made of fists and scars, the only things that have ever felt real to him. Even his name came from the man who owns him—the man who turned him into a champion. From the moment Lady’s kiss sends him reeling, King resists wanting what he can’t have. Mr. Adams never gives up what he owns.
When Lady is sent to nurse King through the tournament, she finds a new strength through the one man who’s never treated her like a whore. King discovers that the woman who shares his dark world might also be the one to lead him out. And as the tournament comes to a violent finale, Lady and King must decide—stay spoiled and shackled, or break free and risk what happens when fear and dreams collide.
Bring on March! Goodreads l Kindle l Author Website
8. JR Ward’s virtual signing for her March release, The Shadows is now open. She will sign the book, and mail it to you near release day. Go here to purchase. I choose to have mine show up first thing release day morning on my kindle *wink* I can’t even think about this book yet until I get through Burned….speaking of….
7. Karen Marie Moning is holding a contest on her Facebook Page to win some copies of Burned. And she also has a book signing coming up and JR Ward will be there. It’s being held in Kentucky – but right across the river from Cincinnati. Go here to read all about it.
6. A wet Chris Hemsworth. With short hair (I think I like the short hair). Enjoy.
5. SPEAKING OF CHRIS HEMSWORTH aka Thor. Smexy reviewer May just took the most epic picture last week at Disneyland. She got intimate with Thor’s hammer. She held on like the badass she is. This would be my Christmas card forever. :)
4. Listen, I know 50 Shades of Grey is coming out soon and everyone is like blah, blah blah. BUT. I have to say – a bearded Jamie Dornan is doing it for me right now. It’s a mighty fine look.
That’s right baby, you keep on walking to me
See more here.
3. This made me smile. The first time grooms see their brides on their wedding day. It’s just pure happiness.
2. I saw Megan Frampton put on her Facebook page that she received a Jane Austen Persuasion cuff as a gift. So I poked around Etsy and found the store – and oh how cute these are. The store owner has more than just Austen quotes, but I’m drawn to the Austen myself. I love a cuff, and I think I might have to get myself something. Like a post-Christmas gift. To celebrate the fact that the holidays are over and it’s now 0 degrees outside and dark at 4:30pm. Yeah. ;) See more at JezebelCharms
1. I’m about to start Flirting with Disaster by Victoria Dahl, which I believe is a late January release. Excited for that one. I’m also reading Heat by R. Lee Smith – the same author that wrote Last Hour of Gann (Heat is an older book – and not a romance). It deals with two human-looking male aliens that come to earth. It’s extremely violent and somewhat upsetting. I also can. Not. Put. It. Down. It’s very long too. So that is my weekend. I’ll be horrifed by night while I read Heat, and hopefully amused by day by Flirting with Disaster. Should be an interesting weekend. Happy Friday!

Pre-ordered The Fighter and the Fallen Women…that sounds soo good. That montage of the grooms was great. My brother got emotional when he saw my sister-in-law for the first time, it was a quick burst and then he pulled it together but the secondary photographer caught it.
Mandi says
Awwww – I love that. I can’t remember what my husband did when I walked down the aisle. That’s bad. LOL. Will have to pull out the video
Pamela Cayne says
Amelia,
Thank you so much for the pre-order! (I know–I’m crazy late over here. My apologies to the AWESOME Mandi and Smexy Books!)
And just to chime in, I waggled my eyebrows at my hubby when I came down the aisle. What can I say–he looked good! Rawr! ;)
Thanks again to both of you!!!
Pamela

Hello wet Chris Hemsworth. Now if Jimmy could just get him and Tom Hiddleston on the show at the same time to play that exact game. #drool

I approve of this plan!

Hey! That’s so cool! I am wearing the cuff again today, since I am watching Persuasion tonight with a friend.
Also–I wanna know how Heat is, compared to Gann. Since I lurved Gann. Have a great weekend!

If you enjoy a dark read that is not BDSM, I recommend HEAT by R.Lee Smith. It has 2 sets of main characters: A criminal alien who comes to earth to kill humans in order to harvest them to make drugs and an alien cop who is trying to capture him. Each kidnaps a woman to help him. Their stories parallel each other, one a terribly dark – I hesitate to use the word- “romance”, the other, more traditional romance. The story line of the criminal and his captive is like watching a house burn…horrible but you can’t take your eyes from it. You just got to stay to see what’s left. He is evil. I mean murderously, unrepentantly jaw-droppingly evil. And yet, in the skilled hand of the author, I’m actually rooting for this monster! And I’m rooting for the cop too! The story is plot driven and it is long but does not drag. (Print edition 617 pages). I stayed up until 3am days on end even though I had to get up for work at 5:30am. When I finished it, I started it over again immediately. It’s a great book. (Though it’s not for the faint of heart.)

I believe there will not be a HEA at the end. There are two main alien dudes who each have a woman right now (against their will at first – similar to Gann). No idea how it will all end, but I don’t think well (I’m at 40%)
But her writing is just as captivating as Gann. I can barely put it down.
Megan Frampton (@meganf) says
I’m SO going to get it. Thanks, guys (tho I do have eight books to read for the RITA noms, so it’s gonna have to wait)

Hmmm Thor …. thanks for those images Mandi!

Love your Smexy Top 10! Cuff bracelets rock! I sure wouldn’t say no to Jamie!

I could not put Heat (R. Lee Smith) down. I told everybody about it. I had book hangovers for a week. It’s one crazy ride.
Mandi says
I’m so addicted. Her writing is so well done.
