News from Mandi: Party Lines by Emma Barry is a fabulous read. Out this Monday, I highly recommend it. Set around a presidential campaign, the hero is working for the democratic candidate and the heroine is in the republican party. They have wonderful, smart banter and a sexy, sexy romance. Review coming this week.
I was disappointed in A King Undone by Cooper Davis. The tone of the book is super erotic, yet – physically it’s not. A King, forced to marry a female and have an heir, finally is free and seeks a male concubine. He finds one – and being a virgin in the m/m aspect of sex, there is nervousness and anxiety. But then we have to wait forever for them to actually do anything. Yet the entire book is about their physical relationship. And, the King never really acts like a king. I explain more in my review coming soon.
Through the Static by Jeanette Gray has an interesting paranormal concept. People forced to link their brains together and erase their previous memories. The problem is, the world building is weak. I needed more background information and reasons why these people are forced to do these things. Who is the bad guy and what are his reasons for being bad. It’s not explained in enough depth for me. Review coming.
I’m currently reading the m/m, Smoky Mountain Dreams by Leta Blake. I’m half through and really enjoying. Solid contemporary romance with very dirty sex scenes. Fingers crossed the second half is just as strong.
