News from Mandi: I didn’t get a ton of reading in this week because I’ve been obsessed with The 100 television show *hangs head* How dare the TV woo me like that?? I did DNF Surrender by Violetta Rand. You can read my more ranty dnf review on Goodreads. It wasn’t good. I found the hero kinda creepy and the heroine insulting.
I read and loved Giving it All by Cara McKenna. Those that read Lay it Down have been introduced to compulsive, anxiety-ridden Duncan and hard-ass Raina. In my mind, they are perfect for each other and I love the story McKenna gives them. Duncan is SO hot. In a weird way ;) Review coming next week.
I’m just starting Radio Silence by Alyssa Cole. Premise intrigues me.
News From Tori:
Obsession in Death (In Death, #40) by J.D. Robb-If all else fails in my life, I will always have Eve and Roarke. Like coming home after a long and weary day, Robb’s In Death series provides me with an enjoyable, intriguing, and sometimes heart wrenching romance suspense that gives me hours of entertainment. We may be 40 books in but nothing about this series has become dull or predictable in the least.
Quarterback Draw (Play by Play, #9) by Jaci Burton-We all need a Grant Cassidy in our lives. I am totally in love with this man. Quarterback Draw is a sweet, sexy, and heartfelt romance that gives a workaholic model raising two siblings a much needed break in the form of an adorably hot and sweet football player who wants to prove to her he is in it for the long haul.
Fat Louise (biker Bitches, #2) by Jamie Begley– Okay though not a quarter as good as book one. The hero in here is a complete immature arse who in my opinion never redeems himself enough. A sweet heroine who Begley develops into much more than we imagined her to be. An intriguing storyline that unfortunately wanders into left field and keeps going while being emotionally deficit with way too much tell and not enough show.
Sweet Home (Sweet Home, #1) by Tille Cole–A huge hot mess of unrealistic scenes, expectations, and results.
Sweet Fall (Sweet Home, #3) by Tille Cole–I enjoyed this one so much more than book one though the emo angst is still OTT and some subplots cross the line. Cole however does manage to keep a leash on the storyline and characters this time around and I feel she handles a very serious subject with honesty and the seriousness it deserves.
The Deal (off Campus, #1) by Elle Kennedy-I AM IN TOTAL LOVE WITH THIS SERIES AND WANT MORE NOW. A sweet, funny, and super sexy NA that gives readers a fantastic story and adorable characters without resorting to the usual NA tricks of overly emotional craziness, psycho exes, cheating, and so on. One of my favorite reads for the year so far.
It Must Be Your Love (The Sullivans, #11) by Bella Andre. I liked but wasn’t blown away. Very predictable in set up and resolution. H/h are delightful and the sex scenes are smoking hot, but I felt the conflict fizzled out quickly and we are left with just watching them hang out together.
This weekend I am reading Samantha Young’s Hero and watching the Sons Of Liberty miniseries on the History Channel. The men in here are HAWT! Thankfully fiction is better looking than reality because in real life, the founding fathers and their sidekicks were, ummm, ugly. lol

Bummer about Fat Louise. Jamie Begley is my crack author but I hesitated buy FL after reading some reviews. I wanted to hear what you thought first, Tori :) I’m sure I’ll read it eventually. Instead I pre-ordered Keys To My Cuffs as my crack for this week! woot woot

I can’t wait for Keys to my Cuffs. :)
