The Author’s Studio – RSLit Style
With Jessica Scott
-What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I think I’d like to try my hand at running a charity. You know one that actually does something other than just raise money. My husband and I always joke that we should start a no kill animal shelter b/c of how many pets we already have. With our oldest wanting to become a veterinarian, it’s probably a decent plan. Otherwise, I want to be a RVer, traveling around the country in an RV writing while my husband fishes. Of course, this is after the kids are safely away at college and no longer depended on us being reasonably well behaved adults.
-What profession other than your own would you NOT like to attempt?
Airbone. No way in hell do I ever want to jump out of a perfectly good airplay.
-If heaven exists what would you want God to say when you arrive?
That I left the world a little better than I found it. Honestly, I think that’s about the only thing we can hope to do.
-What’s your favorite word?
You mean other than profanity? Um….sheesh that’s a tough one. It’s probably more of a phrase: “Come on Guys!” to get my kids out of the house on time.
-What’s your least favorite word?
My full name. It usually means I’ve screwed up.
-What’s your favorite swear word?
The fword. There are so many different ways to use it, lol!
-What’s your favorite noise or smell?
I love the smell of the earth after it rains. You know, like in springtime when it’s kind of fresh and muddy and earthy. That’s the best.
-Least favorite noise or smell?
Burning crap. As in really crap, not as a euphemism for garbage
Blurb:
Stay focused. Get a job. Save her father’s life.
Beth Lamont knows far too much about the harsh realities of life her gilded classmates have only read about in class. She’ll do whatever it takes to take care of her father, even if that means tutoring a guy like Noah – a guy who represents everything she hates about the war, soldiers and what the Army has done to her family.
Noah Warren doesn’t know how to be a student. All he knows is war. But he’s going to college now to fulfill a promise and he doesn’t break his promises. Except he doesn’t count on his tutor being drop dead gorgeous and distracting as hell. One look at Beth threatens to unravel the careful lies Noah has constructed around him.
A simple arrangement turns into something neither of them can deny. And a war that neither of them can forget could destroy them both.

Deb says
Wow! I have to say I am in absolute awe of Jessica Scott for not only being a career Army officer (and accomplishing all that she has within her career) but running a household of kids and critters, pursuing her graduate degree, and writing bestselling books! My dad was a career Army officer (different war) so I know the hardships of that for a family.
I will definitely be reading this new book.
