You should talk to your webmaster. Blog spam like the plugin advertisement can be easily stopped. This is not rocket science. Go to your WordPress dashboard, select the comment section, and select comments to first go to a moderation queue, if you wish. Otherwise stuff like this will happen.
Does this book have the same, cliff hanging ending as the first? I love reading this author, but I felt the first two books in this series should have been one book.
