Tori here with some books I felt deserved some extra love this month.
Innocent Ride (Hellions Ride, #4) by Chelsea Camaron
Romance Suspense
3.5 Stars
Innocent Ride, a romantic suspense, is the 4th book in the Hellions Ride MC series by Chelsea Cameron. The resolution of an ongoing storyline involving Rex-the bad boy man whore VP of the Hellions, his fall from grace and the woman who gives him a chance at redemption. Action packed with obligatory violence, mayhem, and smexy times builds an engaging story around an antagonistic romance that puts the entire MC at risk. Enjoyable though I felt there were too many villains after the heroine which made the story confusing at times.
Life to my Flight (The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC, #5) by Lani Lynn Vale
Romance Suspense
3.5 Stars
Strong heroines, grumpy alpha heroes, and lots of action and sexy romance makes for fun reading. Life To My Flight brings us a friends to lovers story. Cleo is a member of the Wardens MC and a parajumper. When a relationship gets too personal for him, he bails and leaves Rue with a Dear Joan letter. One year later, he realises his stupidity and comes back but Rue isn’t as forgiving as Cleo hoped she would be. As Cleo attempts to reignite the passion that scared him away the first time, Rue has her own issues to deal with when a case she will be testifying in has some people willing to do anything to keep her silent. Though I enjoyed this one I never connected with the hero. I didn’t think his reasons for running were good enough, nor was his groveling. He places himself into Rue’s path at every opportunity, almost forcing her to take him back and I wasn’t impressed overall.
Darker The Desire (Shadows and Secrets, #3) by Shiloh Walker
Romance Suspense
4 Stars
Darker than Desire is the final installment in Walker’s Shadows & Secrets series. The main catalyst in a horrific case of serial abuse that blew a small town apart has come out of hiding to face his fears, his enemies, and to see justice served once and for all. David (Caine) fights against inner demons as he struggles to try and hold onto the one person who makes him whole-Sybil Chalmers. Dark and volatile, Walker blends a compelling romance with a suspenseful ending to the long standing arc. A few unique twist only adds to the explosive ending.
The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire by Molly Harper
Paranormal Romance
4 Stars
Molly Harper keeps on delivering in her newest Half Moon Hollow installment. Snarky humans, overly protective vampires, and the most dysfunctional family around will keep readers in stitches when a young woman meets the vampire of her dreams only to discover he doesn’t remember her at all. Hijinks and mayhem rule the day as Gigi sets out to find her man’s memory while trying to keep her family from taking him out of her life permanently.
Time Served by Julianna Keyes
Erotic Romance/Contemporary
4 Stars
Fans of Cara McKenna are sure to enjoy this steamy, complicated, multi layered story that addresses the need to outrun one’s past; especially when it comes back to stare you in the face. Emotionally plump with well developed characters and a strong well plotted storyline, Keyes builds a lush and at times volatile second chance romance between two broken stubborn souls whose innate fears cause many a stumbling block.
