SILVER Blog Tour
Smexy’s Top Ten
News from Mandi: I don’t really have a lot to report because I blogged about what I read this week. I read Crash & Burn by Abigail Roux and The Shadows by JR Ward. Both reviews can be found above. One I loved, One I disliked – you might be able to guess :)
Once Easter weekend festivities are over, I’m going to read Enslaved by the Viking by Harper St. George. I hope to have more to report next week!
News from Tori: One True Heart by Jodi Thomas. The 8th book in her Harmony series, three couples find their lives intertwined with one another as they all struggle to find love in a small town that never forgets. This one wasn’t my favorite of the series. Though it held the same humor and eccentricities that makes the series so engaging, I wasn’t really that invested in the couples or the multiple storylines. There was a sense of ennui to the story as if Thomas wasn’t truly invested in this one. Review to come.
Taken by Charlotte Stein is a sexy, hawt, durty, and wickedly humorous erotic love story that examines the shame some may feel behind what society deems unacceptable sexual desires. Lucky for the hero, he has “found” the perfect woman to set him straight. :P Review to come.
Vicious Cycle by Katie Ashley. A predictable MC romance-an innocent school teacher falls for a rough biker and the sparks fly as they strive to keep their love and lives safe from a man bent on revenge. Lots of sex, dirty talk, and violence. Weak character development and I wasn’t 100% convinced of the romance. Review to come.
The Frenchman by Lesley Young was an impulse buy and well worth it. SEXY SEXY SEXY! A hot french arrogant rugby player with a criminal past. A sweet american college girl seeking to spend time with her mom. A fast paced storyline that dabbles in quite a few tropes. Drama, action, racy sex scenes, and heart swooning ending. My first time reading this author but won’t be my last.
Bayou Blues by Sierra Dean. Dean is back with Genie McQueen…sister to the awesome Secret McQueen. Though Genie is no Secret, and who really is, but Genie more than holds her own in this action packed urban fantasy that divulges into the aftermath of the supernaturals coming out. Horrific but with enough humor to offset the darkness, looks like Dean has penned another winner. Review to come.
Hearts of Fire by L.H. Cosway. The second book in Cosway’s Hearts series bring us Jack McCabe and his salvation in the form of a shy slight naive woman. A sweet, steamy, and uplifting story about a young woman who takes chance on her happiness when she runs away to join the circus and meets a man who breathes fire into her soul.
Shards of Hope by Nalini Singh. Oh my. A delectable blending of romance and suspense as Singh shows us what true possessiveness is when two Arrows fall in love. Fantastic arc advancement and some delight new character introductions. Review to come.
Vengeance of the Demon by Diana Rowland. Hmmm. This was a hard book to pen down. A source of frustration all around even with the intense action packed storyline. Rowland pushes boundaries without seeming to really go anywhere. Multiple story lines and deceptive characterization keeps the reader highly engaged as we watch those we have come to love and hate change up their roles as even more secrets are revealed, making our heroine’s choices more difficult than ever. Though satisfying in some ways, in others we are left with even more questions.
This weekend I have J Beverley’s Too Dangerous For A Lady to read.
