10. Man, it’s hard to write that date in the title. We remember. We never forget.
9. My friend Pamela rec’d this one to me – and we share a very similar taste in books. C.M. McKenna is the pen name for Cara McKenna, an author whose voice I love. I read this and I liked it a lot – but – BUT – there is not an HEA at the end. For that reason, I guess I have to say this is not a romance book, although there is a romance (an extremely dark, messed up romance) in this book. While I think there is peace at the end of this book, getting to that peace is extremely difficult. The hero is a street vigilante in Boston, who shoots paint balls or worse to people who he sees littering, harassing others etc… He always eludes the police but the heroine finds a way to track him down. She is a recovering pill addict who becomes a bit obsessed with The Badger. They meet. They become lovers (although I’m not sure The Badger is capable of love). The Badger had an extremely horrible childhood. The events that took place have had a huge impact on his adult life, and he is a very unstable person who is in a very, very dark place.
But damn it I realllly liked this book. It’s intense, and extremely dark. It’s more of the journey the heroine goes on as she faces her own demons. One thing I love is how devoted the heroine’s family is to her as she deals with her addiction crisis. I found that – refreshing.
Anyway, if you like dark, torturous books, give this one a try – but don’t yell at me when you finish it and there is no HEA!
I was riveted. Kindle l Goodreads
8. Cover Alert! Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs. Oooooh Mercy looks good on this cover. I really hope this book is good – I had some problems with Adam in the last book. Let’s go Mercy! Releases: March 8.
7. OH HI JJ WATT. He is looking FINE on the cover of Men’s Health this month. Football season is here boys and girls.
I’m playing Fantasy Football for the first time this year. I’m in a league with my brother and all of his friends, my dad and my husband. I’m the only girl out of 12 people – SO I MUST WIN. I named my team “J.J. Watt is H.O.T.” – so then my husband changed the name of his team to “J.J. Waatt” – cheeky guy. I play against my hubs first. Root for meeeeeeee!
6. Speaking of Football – I’ve mentioned this before in Top Ten but it’s a must-repeat for football season. Tater Tot Bombs. Take a frozen tater tot, put a small cube of cheese on it and wrap it in 1/4 quarter slice of bacon. Roll in brown sugar. Bake. Y’all. This is the only way to live. Recipe. (even better, you can make them way in advance)
BUT – this could even be outdone by the “Totcho” – Tater Tot + Nacho. Omg. Recipe.
5. There is a huge, shiny statue of a gnome in Australia and someone came along and added a peen to it. Snort. It’s hard to see it in that pic, but click here for bigger pics. Obviously you want to click. I don’t know what is happening but I love it.
4. We all know Tessa Bailey – the queen of the dirty talking hero. I love her books. She has gone and done something fabulous. She has written – David Gandy Fanfiction! It’s fun. It’s naughty. It’s everything I dreamed it would be. It’s on her website. Go have a lookie.

3. This Fed Ex turkey hates UPS. *wink* – listen – Long ago, I had to go to the middle of nowhere for work, and my company rented us a cabin in the woods to stay in. And one evening, we got home from work, and there were a flock of wild turkeys in the driveway – and every time we tried to get out of the car and into the cabin, they would attack us!! I’m not kidding!! I hate turkeys!

Re: the turkeys….
Back home we have a ton of wild peacocks around…. Which we discovered after moving into into the neighborhood and hearing them cry in the distance (if you’ve never heard a peacock scream, it sounds like a baby being tortured). They’re usually fine… They like cat food, and sometimes do cool dominance displays with their feathers. What we didn’t realize is that they love garages and have GIANT CLAWS. One camped out in the same garage as my parent’s Mercedes and scratched the crap out of the paint job. We are now famous at the body shop as the “peacock people”
Tori says
This may sound dumb but have you tried putting up some mirrors ard the yard? We have wild peacocks and peahens and had the same issue with them wanting to walk on vehicles and roof. A few mirrors placed ard yard away from house and cars worked wonders. They LOVE preening in front of mirrors. They will literally sit there starring at themselves and lightly pecking mirror for hrs. Total narcissists. lol
