Stacey Kennedy is the USA Today bestselling author of the Club Sin series. She writes deeply emotional romances about powerful men and the wild women who tame them. When she’s not plugging away at a new story, she’s either hiking, canoeing, relaxing around a campfire, or obsessing over Penny Dreadful, Game of Thrones, and Outlander. Stacey lives in southwestern Ontario with her husband (who puts any of the heroes in her books to shame), their two young children, and her other babies: a mini labradoodle named Jax and a chocolate lab named Murphy.
I’m thrilled to be back here at Smexy Books, and more so, because this is my very last time chatting about the Club Sin series. All seven books in the series are finished, and with the release of MINE out today, the series is sadly over. Am I ready to say goodbye to Club Sin? Of course not – I plan on spending some serious time with a nice merlot tonight!
I’ll admit it’s always tempting to continue writing in the same world over and over again. I’m pretty sure I could write with the Club Sin gang forever and release many more books set in the sexy Las Vegas club. But I’m also a big believer in sticking to the original cast of characters and not dragging a series on forever. I think a series looses some of it’s magic if it goes on too long, but that’s just my personal opinion. So, as much as I might want to continue, I know that it’s time to let the series go.
Is it easy? Nope. It’s total heartbreaking stuff!
As a reader, I become so attached to other author’s characters that I can throw a serious fit when a series ends, but it’s even harder for me with my own books, because the characters really do feel like good friends to me. Which I suppose is why I anticipated the release of MINE and dreaded it, too.
The only good thing about ending a series is . . . a new series can start. It’s fun to dive into new characters and a new world, and I’m super excited for my new series, Dirty Little Secrets. So, while today might be a little bittersweet, I can’t wait for you all to meet the powerful – super sexy – men from San Francisco next year.
To all my readers, thank you so much for going on this journey with me, and for supporting me along the way.
Now you tell me: Is there a series that you loved so much that you had a hard time saying goodbye?
