Hero: Lincoln West. Video game maker. Rich. Broody. Growly. Sexy.
Heroine: Jessie Kay. Former party girl. Outspoken. A little silly. A lot sexy. They hate each other but the lust….
“Kiss me.” He gripped her by the waist, ready to yank her closer for good, to strip her, to take her – and he had to take her, all the reasons to resist suddenly insignificant – but she latched on to his wrists and pinned his arms at his sides.
Another show of power and control. Yet again, he could resist, and if he did, there was no way she could hold him i place. But he would rather die than scare her away.
“Kiss me,” he repeated.
“No,” she said but nipped at his lips.
“Jessie Kay,” he rasped, her name a curse or a prayer, he wasn’t sure which.
Later…
He unfastened one, two, three of the buttons on his shirt, giving her the barest glimpse at his best, all bronzed skin and delicious muscle. “Here is what’s going to happen. I’m going to kiss and touch you, and you’re going to do whatever you want to e, whatever you want to yourself, while focusing only on sensation. You clear on your instructions?”
“Sir, yes, sir.”
He flashed a grin, leaned forward until he loomed over her. He caged her against the couch, his big body surrounding her, and…he kissed her with such devastation passion she knew she’d never again be the same, his tongue sweeping in to roll against hers, to duel, to conquer, to give and to take. The sensations only he seemed able to ignite overwhelmed her, and with a moan, she melted into the cushions.
Needing him closer, as close as she could get him, she wrapped her arms around him and tugged until he just sort of fell on her. She felt deliciously pinned, reverent yet uncivilized, wild yet serene, desperate you confident.
He cupped her breasts, kneaded them, and her nipples rose to greet him, seeking his attention.
“You’re so responsive, kitten.”
I mentioned how much I’m enjoying this book on Friday in my Top Ten post. I’m still not done BUT I’m still having fun reading this one. One day I’ll finish.

oh man those scenes are incredible. I haven’t read this series yet but I have the first novella on my e reader…so I see I need to get back to reading this author. Thanks for sharing. Hope you enjoy the rest of it.

Triple Dare by Regina Kyle has a preview of this one at the end. (Thanks for that recommendation, I loved it!) But with this one, I couldn’t get past the silly names. Maybe I’m being too critical but every time I read “Jessie Kay” and “Brook Lynn” I was torn between cringing and rolling my eyes. It distracted me from the actual story. I love Gena Showalter’s PNR stuff but I’ve never tried her contemporary books. Can this be read as a standalone?

This can be read as a stand alone – I have not read the previous two books, although those characters are in this one – I had no problem.
She also calls him Sugar Bear – so yeah – silly names with a more intense romance. But Jessie Kay is pretty silly herself.
