Smexy’s Top Ten

News from Tori: I picked up the first three books in Jules Barnard’s NA Blue series. I enjoyed though I noticed that all three books follow the same theme. Strong female whose been cheated on falls for a sexy alpha male who has a woman in his life that causes problems. A bit of melodrama mixed with smexy times and some female empowerment makes for a decent read but by the 3rd book  I was a little over it all.

Fire Bound by Christine Feehan is the 5th book in her Sea Haven-Sisters of the Heart series and while not my favorite installment (I think #4 takes that honor), a definite interesting addition. I liked the couple and the plotlines were very action packed and suspenseful. Some readers may find the darker storyline a bit overwhelming. Review posts Monday.

Marry Me by Karen Stivali is an erotic romance novella between a rock star drummer and a wardrobe. Pretty straight forward in terms of storyline. So much so that it felt scripted. Review to come.

Christina Henry’s Red Queen is the sequel to her epic Chronicles of Alice series which is based off Louis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Though not as dark as Alice (book one), Henry does a fabulous job turning the storyline introspective as Alice and Hatcher go looking for Hatcher’s daughter and learn more about the world outside the Old City. Review to appear in the July issue of RT Magazine.

Cream of the Crop by Alice Clayton is the second book in Clayton’s hilarious and uber sexy Hudson Valley series. Readers will DIE laughing as Alice builds a delectable threesome between a city-bred girl, a grumpy farmer, and luscious, rich CHEESE. Yes, I said cheese. Think erotic Green Acres and you have Clayton’s Cream of the Crop. Review to appear in the July issue of RT Magazine.

This weekend I’m reading Jude Deveroux’s The Girl From Summer Falls which is cute and funny so far and Emma Chase’s Sidebarred. Mandi told me I HAD TO READ it and I always listen to Mandi. Except when she asks to share my bacon. Love only goes so far, Mandi.

News from Kini: I spent last Saturday blanketforting with books.

Loud is How I Love You by Mercy Brown– Picked this up a few weeks back when it was on sale. NA H/H are in a band together. Too much angsty drama for me with the Emmy’s constant back and forth. Although I really liked Travis.

Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan– This was recommended to me after I professed my love for beta heroes. Both H/H suffered severe trauma at a young age. I heard it was optioned for a movie, Nyle from AMTM and DWTS should portray him.

Ain’t She Sweet by Marie Force– Small town romance with too many characters for me to keep track of. Not quite as good as I wanted it to be. You can find the review here.

The Trouble with Temptation by Shiloh Walker– Romantic Suspense, heroine has amnesia. Review to come later in the week.

Overruled & Sustained by Emma Chase- Fast, humorous, sexy reads featuring attorney characters. Both books have POV from the Hero. Both heroes do some groveling, always something that I LOVE.

This week- Going to read the Sidebarred novella from Emma Chase, going to try hard to read Bounty, and whatever else I find interesting.
