Both books coming in around 100 pages, this two book series has a HEA in book one, but a further look into their relationship in book two.
Ethan decides to go to a more expensive college, to follow his high school boyfriend, but when he gets there, Blake tells him he no longer loves him. Ethan is shocked and devastated and decides he needs a plan to get Blake back. Ethan has their entire future planned out, and now he will do anything to convince Blake he made a mistake. Ethan decides the way to get back to Blake is to go through his roommate, Wyatt. Ethan’s calculus grade is suffering and Ethan knows Wyatt is really smart, so he appears at his dorm room to ask him to be his tutor, hoping to see Blake as well. What Ethan didn’t expect was to look at Wyatt and feel a huge rush of lust. Wyatt appears to be the opposite of Ethan. Where Ethan is outgoing, and personable and out as gay, Wyatt is quiet, and intense and more of a mystery (pssst – he has a secret about his past that makes him emo). Wyatt wants nothing to do with Ethan, or so he says, but when they meet in a stairwell and Ethan kisses him, Wyatt admits he has a huge attraction to Ethan. As they start dating, Blake becomes more and more jealous.
I enjoyed both Wyatt and Ethan – they have nice chemistry and their make-out sessions are super hot. This being about 130 pages long, they go from strangers to lovers to “I love you” very fast. It’s almost insta-love. Wyatt even admits that he fell in love with Ethan looking at Ethan’s picture on Blake’s desk the previous year. Wyatt has a secret that comes out that I wish had been explored more. Everything felt a little too rushed. I really like these two together and I enjoyed the story – I just think their HEA could have been less rushed.

Boyfriend Material starts off right where book one ends. They have been together for about three weeks and this time we get Wyatt’s point of view. He is still struggling with some self-worth issues and feels pressure from Ethan when Ethan wants to take him home to meet the parents for the holidays. This novella comes in under 100 pages and is mostly just sex. Not that I’m complaining, but really both of these books could have been just one. Wyatt starts to freak out about how fast their relationship is moving and thinks about breaking up just because he is in a panic. They pretty much solve everything with sex. There isn’t too much else to say – Wyatt reconnects with some family and Ethan’s family meets Wyatt. Oh – and more sex. I would have been happy with just book one I think.
