Feature and Giveaway: Burn Down the Night by M. O’Keefe
News from Kini: I had a really good reading week including some time at the beach dedicated to reading.
I finished Fly with Me by Chanel Cleeton. Heroine is visiting Vegas and meets the fighter pilot hero. They are instantly drawn to each other and then start a long distance relationship. It was a so-so read. The hero only referred to the heroine and other women as “girls”, there are over 100 instances in the book. That annoyed me. I have no interest in book 2, but book 3 looks interesting to me.
Quick read of the week was Rock with You by Rachel Lacey. Rock star meets regular woman. One of my favorite tropes. Mini review to come.
True North by Tamsen Parker was pretty darn good. Slade was awful in previous books and his redemption in this book was AMAZING to see. There was a twist at the end that I didn’t expect and didn’t want, so it kind of took me out of it a little. There was some good grovel, could have been more though. I’d give it a B+.
After we Fall and Hard to Fall by Marquita Valentine. I picked up After the Fall on sale and was able to get an ARC for Hard to Fall, out 10/18. I wanted to like both of these stories more than I actually did. I’ve read this author before and always end up feeling like I am missing part of the story. Both have promising sounding plots, heroine who was abused in previous relationship falls for police officer neighbor and a couple who both come from political families secretly get married.

News from Tori: Headed to see Suicide Squad this weekend. Wooo hooo. Can’t wait.
Hell Breaks Loose by Sophie Jordan is the second in her Devil’s Rock series and focuses on Reid. This can be read as a stand alone if one so chooses. A sexy convict /kidnap romance suspense though I found the edginess and darkness I expected muted. Review to come.
Winter’s Touch by Jamie Begley revisits a previous couple and examines some issues in their life while updating us an ongoing storyline. Enjoyable fast and sexy read. My only issue is how this particular hero always seems to lie to the heroine and justifies it so her anger for it all is her fault.
Touch Me by Jenika Snow is a older man/younger woman erotic romance that gives the illusion of taboo in that hero was once married to heroine’s stepmother and lived with them when she was in high school. A fast read with a uber alpha hero and curious though sexually inexperienced heroine- there was no nooky or wanting of nooky during that time though. :)
Burn the Night by M. O’Keefe. O’Keefe offers readers two of her most broken characters to date in a story of love, loss, revenge, and redemption. Erotic, dark, humorous, and heartbreaking…O’Keefe definitely pens another winner in the 3rd installment in her series-Everything I Left Unsaid.
This weekend I am reading Freight Trained by Sarah Curtis.
