News from Mandi:
Her Naughty Holiday by Tiffany Reisz features a fake boyfriend trope that worked for me. They actually fall in love before they have to fake their relationship to their family. Dirty talker, nice chemistry. Review coming.
I DNF’d Broken Bits by Kel O’Conner. The suspense part of the book did not work for me.
Big Package by Opal Carew features a hero with a very big package, but there was no chemistry or emotions. Lots of sex, but I needed more. Review coming.
News from Tori: It’s been a pretty uneventful week. Reading, reviewing, fell in a hole. *sigh*
Tru Blue by Melissa Foster. A standalone in the Peaceful Harbor series. I enjoyed the main storyline and most of the characters. The romance was hot though heroine’s immaturity was hard to handle at times and there was some eye rolling dialogue. Review to come.
Royally Screwed by Emma Chase. A delightfully adorable romance that made me laugh and swoon as we watch the unveiling of a modern day fairy tale. A definite must read.
Going Deep by Anne Calhoun. A fast paced romance suspense-#5 in Calhoun’s Alpha Ops series. Enjoyable though there was a curious lack of intensity and conflict that I usually associate with her books. Review to come.
Hard Hitter by Sarina Bowen. #2 in her smexy and fun Brooklyn Brusiers hockey romance, Bowen brings us a new hero to swoon over. Patrick O’Doul steams up your kindle as his fall from bachelorhood involves a masseuse whose own romantic history makes her gun shy. Move over Leo, O’Doul is in the house! Review to come.
Savage Mafia Prince by Annika Martin. The final installment in the Dangerous Royals Romance mafia series reveals everything in this dark, intense, and extremely erotic romance suspense. Have some tissues and a fan handy.
Her Naughty Holiday by Tiffany Reisz. The second book in Tiffany Reisz’s erotic holiday trifecta takes us back to Oregon and offers readers a whole lot to be thankful for with a mega hot fake boyfriend, erotic holiday delights, annoying family members and LOTS of laughs.
Bound to Submit (Blasphemy) by Laura Kaye. A sinfully erotic delicious second chance romance gently pushes a couple towards emotional and physical healing when the fates align to bring them back together. I loved the painstaking journey the hero and heroine undertake. The chemistry is intense and protagonist’s feelings are so heartfelt and deliciously written.

I definitely don’t agree with you on Kel O’Connor’s Broken Bits. I thought the suspense was fantastic without being over the top. That was an amazing book. That book had a lot of heart and was so different from the many other romance books out there. I stopped reading some of my favorite authors because they have the two main characters not liking each other throughout most of the book but the last quarter of the book suddenly love each other but still have sex through most of the book. This author I will read again and hope for many more books from her.

Broken Bits by Kel O’Connor was a refreshing change from a lot of the romance suspense books out there. The couple had good chemistry, most of the secondary characters were likable and the suspense was just enough without going over the top. The sex scenes were hot without being extremely raunchy. I hope that this actually becomes a series. I have been disappointed in a lot of my favorite authors lately because they just seem to crank out the same book, with different names and different titles, to the point that I am not really enjoying reading as much as I used to. Thanks Kel for keeping it real!!

I wanted to thank you guys for bringing back the genre of the books that you are reviewing. While I don’t mind branching out to other subjects, I definitely have my fav’s and having the UF, Rom Com and Historical info in the titles really helps when I am trolling for books. Keep up the good work!
