Going in blind will traumatize you and the frenzy you will find yourself in should be avoided at all costs- seeing as though you will need every bit of your energy stores to get through Irresistible Jerk.  It is crazy-sexy-good!

As a rule. I abhor serials.  They are evil incarnate and I said my seven hail Mary’s and doused in holy water years ago, vowing never to get caught up in their evil clutches again. Irresistible Jerk snuck through my defenses and I added it to my to-be-read pile, without a thought.  Once I clicked it open, I realized my mistake immediately.  I also realized that I was tits deep into a scene that I had no idea what was happening, only WHO was this MAN’s POV that was so arresting! Midway through the first page, I nearly brained myself by dropping my tablet on my head trying to switch to book 1.  I didn’t know who that rough talking, captivating man was, why Kelly was naked in his bed or where his vernacular hailed him from (NY? Jersey? Bahston!?) all I knew is that I needed to get to the heart and start of all this awesome STAT!  After berating myself for slipping up and finding myself in the selfish clench of a serial (yes, read with disdain) I rocked through Good Girl and circled back to Irresistable, and knew I was in for the ride of my life.  It is only fair that I take you along with me!

Kelly is a conservative preacher’s kid and knows that one day she will have to settle down and live the life her family and society expects her to lead.  White picket fence,  kids, vanilla husband and vanilla sex.   Before she embarks on her traditional destiny, she wants to walk on the wild side. Experience all of her fantasies and even some kink she never dreamed of.  Joe is a construction worker (tattooed!!) who likes his sex as dirty as his filthy mouth and isn’t ashamed to use his raw sexuality and allure to get women to give him exactly what he wants.  When Kelly meets Joe, she knows he can fulfill her every naughty fantasy and proposes a friends with benefits relationship, only this time, Joe isn’t into just getting the panties and bailing.  He wants Kelly for the long haul and to catch her, he knows he has to play a bit of a long game to catch her.  They are total opposites attract.  From two entirely different worlds and the cat and mouse aspect of their…courtship is thrilling.

I can tell you straight away, no qualm, no subterfuge- I am all in with Joe- and Kelly pisses me off!  I want him to sully her and win her, trick her into submission and storm her every defense!  I was rubbed the wrong way by her abject willingness to completely use Joe for his virile, red blooded masculinity and sexual experience and think to just toss him away when she felt satisfied in her sexual awakening enough to move on with just her memories with her more suitable man.

It wasn’t the sex I regretted.  I’d been more than ready to finally take that plunge.  What I regretted was the friends part of “friends with benefits.” I shouldn’t have invited Joe over for talking last night. I shouldn’t have let myself care about his problems or his mother.  By caring, I’d apparently given him the impression we were more than two consenting adults with an arrangement for sex…Once I got my fill of Joe, I would end our arrangement, nice and clean, my family – and future husband- none the wiser.

I conspired along with Joe, ways to breach her resolve not to fall for him.  Joe is all alpha male, cunning enough to know exactly when and for how long to play beta, allowing Kelly to believe she had the reins fully within her manicured grip, lying in wait for the perfect time to pounce.  Kelly is oh so totally snared! Watching her fall for Joe and witnessing how it will rock her very foundation is reason number two I am sticking with this serial. Reason number one… the eroticism is smoking! (Because- Joe!)

Knowing Kelly would appreciate what she felt against her, I climbed under the covers to give her a wake-up call she’d never forget.  When I pulled her into the spoon of my body, I felt her warm and soft through her harem pants and tank top.  Cute how we’d both ended up sleeping fully dressed after the way she’d sucked me with that pretty mouth.

“Look, you’re asking me to be in your bed without giving me what I really want, which is a girlfriend I can take out and spoil and show off to everybody.”  I hadn’t had anything remotely like that in a long time, and I wanted it so bad it was a physical presence inside me.  “Instead you want to keep me a secret.”  Like something she was ashamed of.  No man wanted his woman to feel ashamed of him.  A man liked to make his woman proud.  Not having that was like having my legs cut off below the knees.

Ah Joe. Dammit Kelly.  Blast the both of them for getting under my skin and being so irresistible!

Annnd then there is Rico. Rico is (hot)  firefighter who is friends and roommates with Joe- who is  also starting a budding friendship with Kelly.

Rico went in the box of things I could talk about when I went home for visits.  Joe was in the other box.  The secret box.  To minimize my risk of slipping up, I had to keep them separate.  It was best if Rico was never here when Joe and I had a hookup.  The rules surrounding this arrangement were beginning to pile up, but it was worth it.  I’d only gone all the way with Joe once…I would keep a thousand rules and secrets to keep seeing him.  Joe was my tree of knowledge, and I’d eaten of his carnal fruit.  It tasted juicy and decadent.

Rico, Joe, Kelly, and a side care of zany family members who cause a trouble of their own complete this cast of characters that delighted me from start to finish.  The Dirty Minds series is set to be ten installments deep.  I do not know how often they are published, there were several months between Good Girl and Irresistible Jerk. Does that mean this could drag out through 2017.  I don’t think I can survive that long.    I love the dark-but fun tone of the story, the interesting characters and the erotic panty sizzling writing!  I love villainizing Kelly and watching her squirm, wondering when she will fall and exactly how hard and if there will be a twist that makes me want to scream my head off.  Kelly’s family and church put and unseemly amount of pressure on her, so I secretly root for her as well – but not to best Joe, but to finally  break free of their emotional oppression.  The conflict is glorious! You see. This is why I never read serials.  The cliffhanger after cliffhanger and the last lines that blow your mind are too much for me. But yet, here I am, and you to hopefully because it is going to be quite a ride.

Oh down the serial rabbit hole we will go!
