Smexy’s November To Be Read

News from Tori:

Train’s Clash by Jamie Begley–Train’s story is similar to Shades in that it addresses various on going story lines from the series. Sexy, infuriating, and seriously funny-the heroine Killyama is the definite star of the show as she show Train that his way isn’t goign to work anymore. A huge plot twist left me crying on my kindle. Well done. Review to come.

Written in the Scars by Adriana Locke–An emotionally bittersweet  romance contemporary that watches the reconciliation of a couple whose marriage is on the rocks. The faint inspirational tone surprisingly blends well with the explicit dirty talk and couple’s sex life. Review to come.

Max by Sawyer Bennett–A sweet and sexy cinderella style story with a hero you’ll want to take home and keep all for yourself. Funny and poignant with just the right amount of angst and snark- fans will cheer Max and Jules on their journey to their HEA.

Campbell’s Redemption by Sharon Cullen–I so looked forward to this installment. All my questions were to be answered. Needless to say I was bored out of my mind  through most of it. Review to come.

Caught for Christmas by Skye Warren–Supa sexy holiday novella in Warren’s Stripped series. Review to come.

Dragon’s Need Love, Too by Lani Lynn Vale-Sexy, action-packed, and much better-developed both in plot and character-wise, Vale’s second installment  in her PNR dragon series hit all my fast fun read buttons.  A strong heroine kept me entertained as she keeps her wits about her while succumbing to the requisite mate bond. Vale does seem to be stealing a page from Sam Cresent and her perpetual need for her couples to engage in anal sex but hey, when in Texas…:P

Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg–I truly enjoyed this standalone. This bittersweet, steamy, humorous second chance love story addresses following your dreams and confronting your fears. Review to come. The romance blends well with the external conflicts and Bromberg resolves everything brilliantly. Review to come.

Prude by Jordan S. Gray–I wasn’t sure about this book at first reading but after sleeping on it, I realized the very things that annoyed me were what made the book good. Gray doesn’t hold back the good and the bad when a socially awkward, OCD, controlling college student falls for a laid back, lives in the moment fraternity brother. The ending was a little rushed but enjoyable over all. Review to come.

This weekend I’m reading Brutal Games by Cara McKenna and Managed by Kristen Callihan.

News from Sheena:

Mandi freed me from Smexy-Jail and I’m back!

I kid, I kid, my SmexyGirls would never leash me!  Nevertheless, I read quite a few books over the past few weeks and I’ve been dying to tell you about a few of them:
I like Big Dragon’s and I Cannot Lie & Dragon’s Need Love Too by Lani Lynn Vale – A huge fan of her Biker series’, it took me a while to give her foray into paranormal romance a chance and I am delighted I did!  Funny, quippy and all kinds of sexy, I forgave the weak-ish world building and enjoyed the ride. I blasted through both books and am super bummed I have to wait on book 3. Wah!
Train’s Clash by Jamie Begley – Much anticipated, Last Riders/Biker Bitches collision course and I am beyond pleased with the outcome. Killy is a Biker Bitch with a heart of pure gold.  Train has long been a mysterious, ménage à -third wheeler in previous Last Rider installments (great series, check it out if you are at ALL into MC Romance. It’s Cracky!) and it was fascinating to finally get into his head. Begely, took a HUGE risk with a plot twist- the sort of twist I usually despise- but she made it work and I’m down to see where she takes the next story.  Plus FYI- major tear jerky moments. A certain scene I read slumped over with one hand on my heart and the other holding my tablet, bottom lip doing a mean quiver.  In a word. Yes.

Dragon Heartstring (Novella) by Juliette Cross–  I’ve not been as impressed with a paranormal world with winged heroes and heroines since Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series. Cross’s Vale of Stars series is seductive world where Morgan Men and Women love and live along side humans.  There is action, adventure and a sensuality that I revel in.  Treat yourself and dig into this compelling author.
The Rebel Heir by Elizabeth Michaels– Please don’t make me talk about this. *shudders* In a word. No. Gawd Why-NO. (Sorry, I needed three words…)
This weekend I finishing up The Legendary Lord by Valerie Bowman, book 6 in one of my fav- fav- FAVE historical romance series, The Playful Brides- along with finally finishing The Untouchable Earl by Amy Sandas, it’s good, but I keep putting it down. gah!
Oh and I’ll have lots of wine in between.  Because. Alcohol.

I won a copy of The Rebel Heir (not an arc for review), but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. I guess it’s okay to keep it at the bottom of my tbr pile.
