News from Tori: Stalked by Elizabeth Heiter–The 4th book in Heiter’s The Profiler series can be read as a standalone though the protagonist and her arc is long reaching. Mostly narrative, this strong police procedural seems to be missing the tense action and suspense that the previous books had. Review to come.
Black Sheep by Bijou Hunter– I picked this up on a whim and literally laughed my arse off the whole time. Book one of the Rawkfist MC, readers shouldn’t expect a lot of MC action as the book revolves around the insane Sheerer women and the men who fall for them.
Snake Charmer by Bijou Hunter– Book two follows the same basic romance formula a book one though Bijou does an excellent job of keeping the hero and heroine’s personalities and their problems different from book one.
The Scent of Winter by Tiffany Reisz– A small poignant interlude at Christmas that offers insight into Soren and Kingsley’s relationship and clears the air on some past issues. Reisz offers it for free on her website.
It’s Christmas Eve and I am preparing for holiday visitors and LOTS of FOOD. :) I have Julia Quinn ready to read on my kindle and finishing up my Best of 2016 which will post on Monday. There are so many books I’m waiting for in 2017, a few I’m really excited about are Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller, Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop, The Undoing by Shelly Laurenston.
Happy holidays, everyone!
News from Mandi: Due South by Tamsen Parker (see review above) was the last 2016 review book for me! And it ended on quite a high note, as I loved that book.
Next week, each reviewer will share her favorite reads of 2016 – I know I have some really good ones in there. And on New Year’s Eve I will share my ten favorite smex scenes – as is tradition.
Looking ahead to early 2017 I’m excited for Breath of Fire by Amanda Bouchet, On Broken Wings by Chanel Cleeton and The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood.
I hope everyone has a lovely holiday – drink too much wine and eat too many sweets.
