Mandi’s Favorite Smex Scenes of 2016
News from Tori: Flawed by Tracy Wolff-Flawed by Tracy Wolff–Fans have been waiting for Tori and Miles story and Wolff doesn’t disappoint. The sexy antagonistic romance blends well with a serious conflict that is all too sadly a common occurrence these days. Review to come
Phantom Kiss by Chloe Neill-–An enjoyable interlude to tide fans over while we wait for the final book of Neill’s Chicagoland Vampire series to release. Review to come.
And Never Let You Go by Nancy Glynn–First in a series, Glynn pens a story of love and secrets in the tangled relationship between two brothers and the woman they both love. Enjoyable though it gets bogged down in narrative and far to many subplots. Review to come.
Rock Chick Reawakening by Kristen Ashley–I’ve waited forever for this story and Ashley doesn’t disappoint. Steamy, humorous, and a tad bittersweet, Daisy and Marcus’s journey to true love is well worth the read.
This weekend I’m reading Jessica Clare’s Dirty Money and starting the renovation on the master bathroom. Send booze. LOTS OF BOOZE.
News from Kini: Okay, for real I’m going to try to get back in habit of contributing to the weekly wrap-up. I have been taking advantage of my library’s audiobooks, I can do things like knit or clean and read. I kind of love it.
How Not to Fall by Emily Foster– This book caught me off guard with how hot the sex was. I just wasn’t expecting it. With that being said, I wasn’t as wowed by the actual story. The hero is super closed off and it doesn’t really come out until late in the book. It is a duology and I am not sure if I care enough to read the second one.
Everything for Her by Alexa Riley– I listened to this one. I felt the hero was a possessive and obsessed, stalker hero. I did not enjoy the hero or heroine. I will admit that I was moderately interested in the secondary couple in this book.
What I am reading now- Driven to Distraction by Olivia Dade, releases later this month. It has started off well. I’m listening to an older Julie James, Practice Makes Perfect. The hero is kind of a jerk. They are both attorneys and he thinks he is being wronged in the workplace when they start trying to create an equal workplace. He’s going to require a lot of redemption.
News from Mandi: From the Ashes by Xen Sanders is such an intriguing read. A m/m paranormal where there are humans, and aberrants – those with a mutated gene that give them power over electricity, water, wind etc… The world is fascinating (although I would have liked to seen more of it), the hero is an anti-hero, and the other hero is mysterious. Really enjoyed. Review coming.
Currently reading Fearless by Lauren Gilley – an 800 page motorcycle club romance – I’m on about page 100 and liking it a lot. Sheena read it one night without sleeping – review coming next week.
