And what his newest assignment lacks in size, she makes up for in fire and backbone. But being drawn to Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, especially since it could be the very man who hired Leese who’s threatening her.
What Catalina knows could get her killed. But who’d believe the sordid truth about her powerful stepfather? Beyond Leese’s ripped body and brooding gaze is a man of impeccable honor. He’s the last person she expects to trust—and the first who’s ever made her feel safe. And he’s the only one who can help her expose a deadly secret, if they can just stay alive long enough…

Questions:
What’s your favorite romantic comedy, book or movie?
I’m not really a romantic comedy type of person. I like action and kick-butt characters, so with that in mind… Deadpool. Right!? You have Ryan Reynolds showing off his gorgeous body, an amazing love story that conquers all, an outrageous action hero, and the comedy is off the charts. Doesn’t get much better than that. ☺
First celebrity crush?
I don’t think I’d call it a crush, but I’ve admired Timothy Olyphant in Justified, Deadwood, and Perfect Getaway – just to name a few. I think he’s an amazing actor, and he’s hilarious and of course, gorgeous!
First author hero?
I had a set of author heroes that inspired me to become a writer. Catherine Coulter, Johanna Lindsey, Stella Cameron, Linda Howard and Julie Garwood…
I still reread their earlier books that got me hooked, and then I love them all over again. It’s funny that my fave things to read are historical romances, yet I write contemporary. It was their handling of the story, the pacing and characterization that drew me in.
Favorite color?
In clothes, black and denim. ☺ I rarely wear bright colors. If we’re talking seasons, green! I’m a big fan of warm weather. Decorating would be very neutral with brown, tan and cream.
Favorite cookie/dessert?
Warm sugar cookies straight from the oven are heavenly! In the summer, I also love Rally’s banana split sundae. So delicious! It’s a calorie-heavy treat with ice cream, pineapples, chocolate sauce, strawberries, whipped cream and a cherry on top, so I usually make it a treat if I get on a bestseller’s list. ;-)
Favorite thing a reader has said/done?
Many readers have told me that my books helped get them through difficult times and that means the world to me. The idea that I might be able to make someone’s day a tiny bit better, or offer just a little escape from a hardship, is a gift too great to measure.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
To keep children and animals safe and make them feel loved, cherished and protected.
If you could be a Disney princess, who would you be?
Merida from Brave. She has GORGEOUS hair, doesn’t worry too much about how she looks, and kicks butt. ☺
What makes you smile?
So many things! Family, animals, sunrises and sunsets, happy readers – actually, waking up each day is such a gift that it makes me pretty chipper. ;-) I love being on or near the water, going to the movies (it’s the only time I’m not plotting) and reading a really good book.
Favorite junk food?
Little Caesar’s crazy bread. Oh the buttery, garlicy doughy goodness!
What is your perfect Valentine’s Day date?
Hubby & I aren’t the fancy-date type, so dinner at a place like Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse where I can get grilled chicken and veggies, followed by an action or horror movie, would be perfect!
What are you doing for Valentine’s Day this year?
Probably writing. Lots of deadlines! But I’m sure we’ll at least sneak in a movie, if not dinner out.
My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is…
Having an excuse to spread the love around a little more enthusiastically. I always make up packages for my grandkids and a few other kids I’m close to, and I mail them off. Candy, cards, little gifts… Kids love getting things in the mail! (I do the same for Easter, Halloween and Christmas.)

About ROUGH AND TUMBLE:
“Gritty, raw, and a side dose of sweet lovin’. Rough & Tumble by Rhenna Morgan will warm your heart and melt your panties.” —#1 New York Times bestselling author Audrey Carlan (Calendar Girl series)
Live hard, f*ck harder and follow only their own rules. Those are the cornerstones the six men of the Haven Brotherhood live and bleed by, refusing to conform to society’s expectations, taking what they want and always watching each other’s backs.
A self-made man with his fingers in a variety of successful businesses, Jace Kennedy lives for the challenge and he always gets what he wants. From the start, he sees Vivienne Moore’s hidden wild side and knows she’s his perfect match, if only he can break it free. He will have her. One way or another.
Vivienne’s determined to ditch the rough lifestyle she grew up in, even if that means hiding her true self behind a bland socialite veneer. Dragging her party-hound sister out of a club was not how she wanted to ring in the New Year, but Viv knows the drill. Get in, get her sister and get back to the safe, stable life she’s built for herself as fast as humanly possible. But Viv’s plans are derailed when she finds herself crashing into the club’s clearly badass and dangerously sexy owner.
Jace is everything Vivienne swore she never wanted, but the more time she spends with him, the more she starts to see that he loves just as fiercely as he fights. He can walk society’s walk and talk society’s talk, but when he wants something, he finds a way to get it. He’s proud of who he is and where he came from, and he’ll be damned if he lets Vivienne go before showing her the safest place of all is in the arms of a dangerous man.

First celebrity crush?
God, this is going to date me big time, but…David Lee Roth. I had Van Halen pictures all over my apartment in college and nursed more fantasies about being swept away by him than I care to admit.
Favorite cookie/dessert?
Cannoli dipped in chocolate (or with milk chocolate chips—I’m not picky). (Note I used cannoli which is plural, because a gal cannot have just one cannolo.)
If you could be a Disney princess, who would you be?
Easy—Merida. Not only is she a badass with a bow and arrow, she’s got a wicked accent and to die for hair.
What makes you smile?
Catching a guy putting the moves on a young girl in a public place. Especially when he’s trying to be smooth about it, but is still obvious as hell. Makes me giggle every time.
What is your perfect Valentine’s Day date?
Well, Vivienne’s already scored Jace, so I guess I can’t say a date with him. (My heroines have all the luck.) So, a close second would be dinner and drinks at my favorite sushi place, In The Raw. Favorite drink – Their Flirtinies. Favorite entrée – Macadamia Halibut. (No, it’s not sushi, but it’s still lick-the-plate-good.) Oh! And no hangover. Those Flirtinies throw a mean left hook if you don’t watch it.
My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is…
CUPCAKES! My husband long ago figured out how sad I get watching flowers die, so he always brings me at least a dozen designer cupcakes in lieu of battling it out for roses or stargazer lilies at the florist. I can’t wait!
