February Mini Reviews
Let’s play LisaLand with Lisa Kleypas!

News from Mandi: Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas is just the best. An outstanding romance book featuring a wallflower heroine who would rather create and sell board games than ever get married. The hero is a swoony earl who accidentally gets in a sticky situation with the heroine. Adorable!!!

King’s Captive by Amber Bardan is a crazy book about a girl who is kidnapped by the hero and forced to live on a private island. There IS a solid HEA and I liked it (I normally don’t like this scenario). The explanation worked for me. Still crazy ;)

News From Kini: Another busy week of reading for me.  Madly by Ruthie Knox– The follow up to Truly, this book featured Allie, the sister of the previous heroine and Winston Chamberlin, the brother of the hero from her book About Last Night. It felt a little heavy on the outside story, but still a solid read, super sexy. I’ve missed Knox’s voice.

King’s Captive by Amber Bardan- I hardly ever read suspense and I’ve given up on books that contain any sort of mind fuckery. Based on the blurb, this book was not for me (captive heroine). Except Mandi is a master book pusher and I felt compelled to read it. I finished it at 2:30 am and it was hard to not text Mandi. This book was for me with its twists and turns and Julius. It blew my mind. I might read it again this weekend just because. Definitely making it to one of my favorites so far this year.

Love on her Terms by Jennifer Lohmann– I have yet to read a SuperRomance that didn’t make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Heroine is HIV positive and hero is a widower, his wife committed suicide. So both carrying heavy emotional baggage. The author did a great job with the story. I definitely recommend it for a reader looking for untraditional MCs.

Undeclared by Julianna Keyes– Second book in her Burnham College series. Full review to come, but my love for and fan-girling of Keyes’s books will continue.

What I think I’m going to read this week- I have intentions of reading the following books this week- Stealing Mr Right by Tamara Morgan, Royally Matched by Emma Chase, Pretty Face by Lucy Parker, Dangerous Books for Girls by Maya Rodale, and The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss.

News From Tori: All The Lies We Tell by Megan Hart. The first in a what I assume to be a duology. A young woman has the chance to finally be happy if she’s willing to take a leap into the unknown. Review to come.

Dating The Undead by Juliett Lyons-A sexy humorous PNR with a touch of the erotic and suspense. A fast fun read though the author “borrows” some ideas from other books. Review to come.

Sinful Scottish Laird by Julia London–This historical romance picks up approx 30 years after book one. Delightfully sexy and soulful, a young widow discovers that in life, the only person you can really count on is yourself. Review to come.

Echoes In Death by J.D Robb–Suspenseful and intriguing as always. Read my review here.

Something Borrowed by Eve Dangerfield– I got to about 25% and set this one aside. I love the premise but the heroine’s anger issues really became annoying. She seems to use her anger as an excuse to be a jerk. I’m going to try again later.

Etched In Bone by Anne Bishop– The last book in Bishop’s Others world wraps up the main arc and give readers a lot to think about. Rumor has it that bishop is thinkibg about spinning off this world with anither series. We shall see.

This weekend I am reading Silence Fallen by Patrica Briggs and Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller.
