Smexy’s Top Ten

News From Mandi: I don’t have a lot to report other than what I’ve already reviewed this week. Up next for me is What It Takes by Shannon Stacey, I enjoy her work. I also want to try The King’s Man by Elizabeth Kingston – someone on Twitter rec’d it and it sounded up my alley.  (It’s also free right now)

News From Tori:  I ended up DNFing Wait for Dark by Kay Hooper. I’ve been a huge fan of this PNR dark suspense series for years but I’ve noticed the last few have been extremely verbose and mired down by characters to the extent it hurts the storyline.

Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa–I picked this one up after hearing Grace Draven rave about it on FB. A fun, sexy, mysterious urban fantasy with a strong romantic element. An interesting play of sorts off the movie the Labyrinth and Bowie’s Goblin King. First in a series. Review to come.

King’s Captive by Amber Bardin–Mandi said read now and I obey all things Mandi. :) . Not sure how Bardin escaped my notice but WOW. This dark romance is a study in duplicity and deception as Bardin twists, turn, manipulates, and shocks readers to the very end.

Ashwin by Kit Rocha–The first in a spinoff of Rocha’s best-selling Beyond series. Sexy, edgy, dangerous, and erotically dark, this is the couple fans have been waiting for.  Review to come.

This weekend I’m reading A Dangerous Age by Kelley Bensimon and hopefully Roman by Sawyer Bennett.

News from Sheena:

S-l-o-w week for me.  I’m three books behind my reading schedule (thank you for reading pace shaming me Goodreads) and I am looking forward to using the weekend to catch up on something good!  Despite my romance lull, I did read a few books recently…

Midtown Masters by Cara Mckenna– I start-stopped-started this a few times, no fault of the book- it just worked out that way- but once I leaned into it- I found it to be very enjoyable with the typical McKenna trappings- shock & awe with delicious sexual tension and complex, multi-dimensional characters. I’m not always into three-ways but I simply can not deny this series, with the exception of book 1.  (I’m eyeballing you Crosstown Crush (link to review?) and your ending that frustrated me for days!
Grip by Kennedy Ryan– Grip is a bold and unapologetic look at interracial romance and does not shy away from any of the ideals and prejudices that most of us are too polite to acknowledge – head on- amidst one of the sexiest, and provocative true love romances of the year.
I’m in the mood to swoon so this weekend I have my hands on two swoony rec’s from my review sisters, Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and The Cad and the Co-Ed  by L.H. Cosway.  If things go my way, I’ll be airborne by Saturday afternoon!
