SUMMERY:
Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never even met?
Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch–an anonymous virtual assistant service–is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.
Although it’s against the rules for her to check his file, she’s 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting…until she has to meet her client. Face to face.
Cue: utter panic.
Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He’s still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth–that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix.
He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won’t show her pretty face.
But it’s nothing that a pair of fourth-row hockey seats can’t fix. Hailey can’t resist the offer. Matt can’t resist Hailey.
Good thing he doesn’t have to. Fire up the kiss cam!
Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.

Was anyone else actually really disappointed in this synopsis? I was hoping that this story would be about him and his ex getting back together (that the title would be him getting her to “Stay”!)
I know real life is a lot more complicated, but it seems like they have little kids and the immediate catalyst for her leaving was that he missed “another” counseling session. That kind of just makes me feel like if he didn’t have time to show up for working on his marriage before, and he’s (according to this blurb) barely seeing his kids now, I’m not so much rooting for him to go out and date as much as I am to get his life in order first and spend some serious time (including in family therapy and mediation) getting stable and fixing some of those issues that were issues the first go round, and making sure he has the time and bandwidth to handle everything in his life as it’s shaping up.
This may also be my personal bias showing, but I’m also already almost defensive about how the ex will be portrayed- its no joke to raise kids (twins!) with a partner who’s often gone and/or preoccupied. I’ll be interested to see how that plays out.

Looking forward to reading. I look forward to see how the authors deal with the ex and kids. I was also thinking it would be about him getting back with the ex due to the title.

This sounds like a fun read! Thanks for the sneak peek.

The title does seem to suggest he’d try and work things out with ex. Huh. Kids, exes, virtual assistants…I just hope it has the same humor, steam, energy Good Boy had.
