Smexy’s Top Ten
News from Mandi: The Thing About Love by Julie James (out next week) is not my favorite by her. I had a hard time getting into the book.I found the hero super sexy and there is cute banter, but it didn’t work as well as her others. I explain it better in my review next week.
Fire In His Blood by Ruby Dixon is a well-done paranormal romance. The hero is a dragon shifter! The heroine is human, who is sent to “tame” the dragon. It’s cute, super sexy and I love the world. I had so much fun reading it. Tomorrow I’ll post a scene for Smex Scene Sunday. If you have Kindle Unlimited, it’s included. Book two just released as well.

News from Tori: Nalini Singh’s Silver Silence is another winner in my book. An entertaining opposite attraction romance that gives us new faces and storylines to watch for in this ever increasing world. Review to come.
A Day in the Duchess by Sarah MacLean is an exquisite blend of pain and pleasure as MacLean holds nothing back from readers in her dissection of this couple’s relationship. My heart is broke a million times over. Review to come.
The Unlikable Demon Hunter by Deborah Wilde is an energetic and amusing urban fantasy that has all the necessary ingredients to be a yummy read but doesn’t blend together as well as it could. And a lot of that lands on the shoulders of the heroine. Review to come.
Wild & Sweet by Rhenna Morgan-DNF. I was bored to death. 30% in and nothing. A small bit of action in beginning had me intrigued but then we get buried into heroine’s and hero’s heads. And it’s boring. They’re boring. I felt no connection between the H/h even though the author tells us repeatedly it’s there. In storylines like this the characters really need to shine and unfortunately, for me, these two don’t.
This weekend I’m reading Sarah Curtis’ All In.

News from Kini:
A Bolt from the Blue by Maggie Wells– I really enjoyed this. MCs that were 40+. Dealt with things like divorce and widowhood in a very relatable way. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Baby Come Back by M. O’Keefe (Molly O’Keefe)– 5 Star read for me. The way Molly writes a bad and trouble hero and redeems them and makes me love them is like no other author. Can be read as a stand alone, but I think you will have a better understanding if you read Bad Neighbor first.
Any Day Now by Robyn Carr– New to me author, she does really well with the small town and building a world around that. The heroine is a recovering alcoholic and she actually attends meetings, that is the first I’ve seen in romance. The story was a little choppy, probably ARC related, but solid story.
I’ve started listening to Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley, but it is 22 hours long, so it will be listening for a while. I have read it before, several times in fact. It is one of my favorite KA books.

Lady Luck is my absolute favorite Kristen Ashley book. I have never done any of her books as an audio book. I might need to try it.

After finishing “Bad Neighbor”, I immediately put “Baby Come Back” on my TBR list. Glad to hear it’s good! And happy news, there is a pre-order sale! It’s 99 cents right now. Score!

Some intriguing titles listed above! I’ve put a few on my wish list.
