News from Tori: Between a sick kid and being trapped at home because of wildfires and heavy smoke, it’s been a stressful week. Not a whole lot of reading was done-but a whole lot of whining was. LOL Jennifer Estep’s Snared is the 16th installment in her Elemental Assassins series and has a nice investigation vibe. I only wish the foreshadowing hadn’t been so heavy. Review to come.
Fire in his Blood by Rudy Dixon is a cute, humorous, and sexy pnr involving dragons and language barriers in a post-apocalyptic world. Sheena has read book two and says it’s even better.
R.S. Blecher’s The Queen of Swords is the third book in his epic fantasy Golgotha series. and packs a wicked 1-2-3 punch when a determined descendant of assassins and pirates goes after the people who took her child. My review will appear in the June issue if RT Book Reviews.
This weekend I’m reading Chloe Neill’s Blade Bound and grieving the end of a series. *SOB*
News from Mandi: Relaunch Mission by Robyn Bachar is a well done Sci-Fi Romance featuring a heroine who is a space privateer. The hero is her long lost love, who is just recruited to be on her crew. There are some bad feelings to start but eventually their passion reignites. Lots of action in this one – I liked it a lot. Review to come.
Lost Rider by Harper Sloan – I looooved this book. The hero is a super bitter, angry, intense former rodeo star who reluctantly comes home to his father’s funeral. The heroine crushed on him hard in high school..and then he broke her heart. Their relationship goes from super intense to super mushy. It made me smile. Review to come.
I’m currently reading Haven by Rebekah Weatherspoon – I’ll report back!
News from Kini- I had a slow week because of the never ending book I was reading for review. Other than the two books I read for review, I started Hold Me Down by Sara Taylor Woods. Everyone was talking about it last month and I am reading now. I am really enjoying the heroine’s journey. Review to be posted soon.
I am still listening to Lady Luck. I really struggle with KA on audio because I think all her writing tics are very evident when I hear it. But that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying it. #teamwalker
