News From Tori: I picked up Laws of Attraction by NM Silber and thoroughly enjoyed. Lots of witty banter and smexy times between the protags. The hero is a dirty talker. YUM. A small mystery develops 3/4s of the way through and is continued into book two. It is currently free on AMZ.
Killing June by May Bridges was a dark and enjoyable romance suspense with a strong erotic element. Review here. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I’m currently reading Clare Wallis’ Sound of Light.
News from Mandi: Down Home Cowboy by Maisey Yates is a cute story about a single dad, lost on how to parent his teenager and a woman who was given a second chance in life by the town and wants to give back. They have great chemistry and I found it fun and sexy. Review coming early next week.
I’m currently reading Kiss My Boots by Harper Sloan, which features a second chance romance. The heroine is a car mechanic and the hero is a doctor, coming back home to take after his father’s practice. I LOVED the first book in this series, Lost Rider.
News for Kini: After All by Karina Halle– This book didn’t work well for me. Just too much happening and not enough focus on the real story. There were a lot of little things that made me not like it.
My streak of reading meh books was broken earlier this week. CCurrently I am reading Mister Hockey by Lia Riley and it’s pretty good. Fingers crossed that my good book streak continues.

I’m going to try Laws of Attraction so thanks! And I’m also looking forward to Kiss My Boots. Also just finished Halle’s After All, and I didn’t really care for it either. I thought it was cheesy and the emotional connection felt so fake to me. Wasn’t pleased with the antagonist either, just so flat.
I also read/skimmed Wired by Julie Garwood. Um, best thing I can say is I did not care for it. Again, so flat and I felt no real connection to any character.
Surprisingly, I read Ball Peen Hammer by Lauren Rowe and actually really liked it. It wasn’t a perfect book for me, but it was funny funny funny and I understood the characters motivations and actions.
Tori says
I have Ball Peen Hammer on my TBR . I LOVE comedy in romance.
Kini says
The antagonist in After All was stupid. It felt forced and kind of misplaced. I would have been more convinced if there was more leading in to it.
