End of Summer Reading Picks: Can’t Hardly Breathe by Gena Showalter Excerpt
News from Tori:
Beyond Doubt by Kit Rocha is #9.5 in the Beyond series but #1 in their spin off- O’Kane For Life. A fun, informative, and erotically charged peek back into the lives of the O’Kanes -specifically Bren & Six- as they work on rebuilding their Sector and helping the homeless children who remind them so much of themselves.
Bring the Heat by G.A. Aiken. The 9th installment brings back the action, intrigue, and arc advancement I’ve been waiting for. The last few books seemed to stall as Aiken sought to connect more couples and maneuver the ongoing storyline to where it needed to be. Fans will love the couple and the humor this series overflows with. Review to come.
Protecting Their Mate by Moira Rogers. This 3 part serial was originally over 9 parts and published under the pen name-Mia Thorne. Rogers cleaned up and consolidated to create erotica that focuses on a young female shape-shifter who discovers and explores her sexuality in a pack of all males. I enjoyed it overall though the storyline definitely plays second fiddle to the never ending sex. Review to come.
Duke of Desire by Elizabeth Hoyt. The 12th installment of the Maiden Lane series gives us an amusing marriage of convenience and a heroine whose strength, intelligence and stubbornness make her the perfect match for her intractable hero. Review to come.
This weekend I’m reading Sin by Emma Hart and I hope to start Linda Castillo’s Kate Burkholder series.
News from Kini:
It’s been a slow reading week for me. I am currently about 20% on Irresistible You by Kate Meader, pub date 8/14. The hero is kind of a jerk. I love when a jery gets redeemed, so I have high hopes for this.
I started the Kate Daniels book on audio and it wasn’t holding my interest after about two hours. I took a break and started Marrying Winterbourne by Lisa Kleypas. I’m about 2 hours in on that as well.
After I finish the Meader book, I am hoping to read the latest installment of the Winston Bros series by Penny Reid-Beard in Mine. I usually enjoy her books and I’ve been seeing a lot of 5 stars reviews for this one, so my expectations are high.
