News from Tori: Busy week for me with all the baking, cleaning, wrapping gifts, and trying to squeeze some work and reading in there before Christmas. Most of what I read I reviewed this week. I dnf’d Cynthia Eden’s Into The Night. I have always enjoyed her writing and her various FBI series but lately, they’ve all been sounding the same.-just different character names. There is always a former victim, a reluctant romance, and a suspenseful storyline involving the chase for a serial killer. I just wasn’t seeing anything new in the story so I cut my losses early. I’m currently reading Jenifer Till Death and a rec I saw from Grace Draven on Facebook-Impervious by Laura Kirwin. I will be writing up my Favorite Books of 2017 post for next week while finishing my baking and wine drinking. :) Happy Holidays to all and thank you for allowing SmexyBooks to share in your lives.
News from Mandi: I finally read and loved Illegal Contact by Santino Hassell! I already have book two from Netgalley. I loved both main characters and I thought the football aspect was done well. I also enjoyed Underneath it All by Kate Canterbary. A strong, sexy contemporary that introduces a family I already enjoy.
My first review book for 2018 will be United by Their Royal Baby by Therese Beharrie. I gave it a B-. Angsty, friends to lovers and marriage of convenience! Up next for me is Dangerous Promise by Megan Hart. Female bodyguard with enhanced abilities! We shall see.
Happy holidays to you all!
