News From Tori: Whenever T wants to do home improvements, it cuts into muy reading time. Like just this last week, we had to install a new toilet. So T decides, “What the hell… let’s go ahead and redo the floor, the baseboards, and touch up the paint.” Geesh dude. lol I must admit, it looks better. It’s always nice to join the 21st century. So, while I was playing Bob the Builder, I read A Marriage of Inconvenience by Penny Reid. This is Kit Kat’s and Dan the Security Man’s story and I thoroughly enjoyed. While the marriage of inconvenience was the main subject, Kat’s evolution and learning to forgive herself was the jewel of the story. Review to come.
Ocean’s Light by Nalini Singh. When I got this arc I just couldn’t wait to read it. Fans are sure to enjoy Bowen’s story and the in-depth look at BlackSea. New storylines are opened as is a new partnership. Very curious to see where THAT goes. LOL Review to come closer to release date.
I’ll admit I’m not a big Charles Dicken’s fan. It has been years since I read Oliver Twist but when I Saw Olivia Twist by Lorie Langton I was curious. What if Oliver had really been a girl and forced to live as a boy in order to survive the streets? An enjoyable re-imagination of a classic that blends some old and new to create intriguingly different. Review to come.
This weekend I’m reading Why Mommy Drinks by Gail Sims and Thirsty by Mia Hopkins.
Kareni says
Why Mommy Drinks and Thirsty seem like an appropriate pair of books! I look forward to hearing about them.
Tori says
Haha I didn’t even pay attention to that.
