News from Mandi: Falling Star by Terri Osburn features a hero who was once at the top of the country music charts, but alcoholism turned his private and professional life into chaos. Now sober, he is trying for a comeback and to rekindle a romance. I felt the music stuff far outweighed the romance in this one – and I had some problems with the heroine. This will be reviewed in our April mini post in a week or two.
The Viking Queen’s Men by Holley Trent is a really fun book with a paranormal twist. The heroine discovers telepathic abilities when her family finds her after searching for years and years. She is of their people, and must not only get to know her family, but learn to all there is to know about being queen. She also has two mates! Yes, this is a m/f/m HEA and it’s soooo sexy and works well. Review coming!
I’m currently reading A Gentleman Revealed by Cooper Davis. This is a historical m/m but as the blurb states, “set in an alternative Victorian world, where gentlemen may openly court and marry fellow noblemen….” — one hero is 6′ 4” and very portly set….I like it so far but I’m only about 10% in. I’ll report back with a review this week.
News from Kini: Reading has been kind of uninspiring lately, but this was the best week I’ve had in awhile.
Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren– I really enjoyed this book. It is tagged as women’s fiction, but it is definitely heavy on romance. My sister, Cori, and I did a review on my podcast and that will be posted later this month.
I was really excited about a book that features amnesia, but it was a letdown and I DNF’ed it. Look for that review in minis later this month.
I started Jagged by Lauren Dane and it is starting off iffy. Fingers crossed it gets better really fast.
After that, I am reading Pretending He’s Mine by Mia Sosa. I have heard good things about this, so I am excited.
