**We are going to try a new format at Smexy. Each day, one reviewer will post all the books she has read in the past seven days. Sometimes it may be long reviews like you are used to seeing. Sometimes they will be mini reviews. This gives each reviewer a week to read books, and their own day to talk about them. Mandi is Monday, Tori Tuesday, Sheena Wednesday, Helyce Thursday and Kini Friday. The Top Ten will be coming back this week, and we will still post a wrap-up and Smex Scene over the weekend. We are still accepting review requests as always and will be sprinkling in promo posts once in a while.
Happy Hump Day! I can’t think of any better day to share the romance quotes this week that either made me swoon or scramble for my pearls for some serious clutching!
This week’s wistful quote is from The King’s Spinster Bride by Ruby Dixon. This is the first release in the (timely!) Royal Wedding series, a collaborative series where four authors each write a sexy little Royal Wedding themed novella in their own wheelhouse. The result is a fresh and fun mini series where the stories are unique and feature brides who each have a wild story to tell. This series caught my eye when I saw Ruby Dixon was attached (if you haven’t read her sci-fi romance, what exactly are you doing- like ever? It’s amazing!). Kati Wilde, who rocketed to “I’ll-buy-anything-she-writes-ville” with last year’s Smexy ladies approved, Going Nowhere Fast, is also featured along with two additional new to me authors, Alexa Riley and Ella Goode.
Check out their Royal Wedding Series page for more info!
I love you, too,” my wife says, and offers her palm for a kiss. I take it and press my mouth against it. A second later, I’m surprised when she starts to get out of bed…
She wants to go with me? I laugh, but I’m not surprised. My wife is as fierce as any cyclops warrior in her way, and she always gets what she wants. I carefully transfer the baby—Alistair—to her arms—and then pick her up in mine. I grunt a little at that.
“It feels like you’ve still got a baby in you.”
Halla snorts and gives me a wry look. “Not what you want to tell your wife after she’s just had your child.”
“My wife knows she’s beautiful beyond words.”
She looks up at my face and smiles. “She does.”
*Eye lash flutters* King’s Spinster Bride is $0.99 or free with Kindle Unlimited.
This weeks Wanton quote is from Whiskey Burning (Iron Fury MC Book 1) by Bella Jewel. I burned out on motorcycle club (MC) novels a little while back, I got to the point where I read all the good ones (that I’d come across) and the rest were starting to become rather ho-hum, color-by-biker, and I took a break. I recently came across Whiskey Burning and it felt like the more gritty, not-afraid-to-go-there content, definitely hailing back to my MC reading frenzy and I couldn’t pass it up.
“Beautiful, but your beauty is just a mask, isn’t it?”
I whimper.
“Did it feel good to know you hurt me? That you won? That I let someone in, finally, and that someone was you? Did you get satisfaction out of knowing what you did?”
“Maverick, please,” I whimper. “It’s not what you think.”
“Lie to me again,” he threatens, stepping even closer, hand curling around my hip and jerking me against him so I’m rocking against his cock, “and see what happens?”
WHAT HAPPENS!!???
A whole lotta hurt, angst, frustration and redemption. Whiskey Burning isn’t pretty, characters burn one another to the ground, but in true romance fashion, rise from the ashes in the end! If your fancy is tickled, its free on Kindle Unlimited

Did you read the Kati Wilde book, THE KING’S HORRIBLE BRIDE? It’s oh so good! It’s full of Kati’s trademark tropes: intelligent heroine, handsome but initially somewhat thoughtless hero, believable angst, smoking hot sexy times, and a contrition/redemption arc for the hero. Highly recommended!

Thanks Deb! I haven’t yet, but it’s on my radar!
