November To-Be-Read

November 6, 2018 by Mandi 5 Comments

Mandi’s TBR:

Fireworks by Sarina Bowen 11/13. Tori told me this is fantastic – plus the blurb starts with “Skye Copeland is on paid leave from her broadcasting job after accidentally drawing a pecker on the traffic map. ” Ha!

Better Not Pout by Annabeth Albert 11/12. She was a “new to me” author this year and I really like her voice. Throw in a holiday theme, and I’m there!

The Cowboy by Molly O’Keefe 11/16. Another blurb that is sucking me in! “We have three rules: We never see each other’s faces. We don’t know each other’s names. We don’t say a word.
But at dawn when she steps out onto her private balcony over my work site, we show each other… everything.
“

All I Want for Christmas is a Cowboy by Jessica Clare 11/6. I’m reading this one next. I like this author and right now I’m a sucker for holiday reads. Also this one has the couple stuck in a cabin during a blizzard (my candy), and the heroine has amnesia. Could this be anymore exciting?????

Bad Habit by K.A. Mitchell 11/6. I haven’t read every book in this series, but I did enjoy Bad Company and Bad Boyfriend. Looking forward to getting back to this author.

Angela’s TBR:

The Hero and the Hacktivist by Pippa Grant 11/9 I love me some Pippa Grant. Since discovering her via Twitter recs at the beginning of the year I’ve devoured every word she’s written.

Seasons of Sorcery – A Fantasy Anthology by Grace Draven, Jennifer Estep, Jeffe Kennedy, and Amanda Bouchet 11/13– To say I’m excited about this book would be an understatement. I love every single one of these authors and can’t believe someone managed to wrangle them all into one anthology.

Dark Arts and a Daiquiri by Annette Marie 11/16 I read the first book in this series just a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed. The world building is fresh and I loved that the main protagonist is a woman with no magical powers, but somehow manages to hold her own in a magical world.

Captive Desire by Robin Lovett 11/19 This is the second book in a sci/fi series set on a world where the atmosphere causes people to go crazy with sexual arousal. There was a whole lot of “I don’t like you, but take your pants off” hate humping in the first book and I’m ready for a whole lot more.

The Other Miss Bridgerton by Julia Quinn 11/20 This is Poppy Bridgerton and Andrew Rokesby’s story. I enjoyed the first book in this series, but found the second book to be sort of meh. I’m hoping some of that old Bridgerton magic from the original series makes an appearance.

 Kini’s TBR:

I just looked back at my October TBR and I actually read ever book I wanted to, even though I didn’t finish them all. Let’s hope November TBR reading goes the same.

Sleepover by Serena Bell 11/13- I have always enjoyed Bell’s works. The hero is a widower. I pretty much stopped reading the blurb after that and requested this arc.

Fetish Girl by Bella LaVey 11/13- This is a memoir of sex, domination and motherhood. I am always interested in real life stories relating to women as sexual beings and mothers.

The Cowboy by Molly O’Keefe 11/16- I loved the first story in this series and I am excited to see how O’Keefe closes it out.

Best of Luck by Kate Clayborn 11/27- I cheated and read this already and I LOVED IT. But I need to read it again so I can write a review for it.

Their Perfect Melody Priscilla Oliveras 11/27- I loved book one in this series and I DNF book two. So I am hoping this book is somewhere in the middle.

Before Girl by Kate Canterbary 11/?- Y’all know I’m a canterbary fan girl so I will need to read this. I especially love how she writes imperfect and sometimes difficult to love heroines.

Molly O’Keefe’s THE COWBOY can probably be read as a stand-alone, but I’d recommend reading the previous three books in the King Family series (only the first of which is written by O’Keefe) to get an idea of all the characters, their backstories, and how they relate. The same goes for FIREWORKS—while I’m sure it can work as a stand-alone, all the characters in Bowen’s True North series are interconnected, so I’d recommend reading the previous books first.

I really enjoyed Fireworks. Ben and Skye’s romance was a delish.

Cowboys must be the new billionaire. Lol
